Title: Any love for NetEpic here?
Post by: Warhead on March 07, 2010, 12:38:02 AM
Since TacCom has gone I've been looking for a temporary new home until Cybershadow gets things sorted and have stumbled upon your worthy site. Does anyone here play this?

They're not replying in droves. That'll be a resounding no then...

Pity, I was looking for somewhere to post a 6K battle Report. Nids vs. Orks.

Ah, well. I'll maybe do it anyway and see if I can tempt any of you EA boys into a real mans game of tabletop manliness that only NetEpic can provide.  ;) :D

Is this the Board then?

I've been looking for more Info on the new 'Gold' Eldar Codex...

Nope, it's not the official NetEpic Gold board. I'm just another NetEpic fan TacCom member cast adrift when the Titanic went down, again. As far as I know what I've attached here IS the up to date list but it could easily be outdated by now.

I'll be posting up a Battlereport in two weeks time, 6K Tyranids vs. Orks. We've already played the first half of the game so I might post those sooner. I needed somewhere to post it all and I had hoped there would be some interest for netepic at Specialist Games as this is the recommended site as per the link on the TacCom greetings page.

Hi!

The forums being down has also put delays on the Net Epic Gold project since there were threads with pictures to be used as well as general editing and such.

I think most don't even know this forum is here, I just stumbled on it today.  ;)

Hopefully the forums will come back soon.

Welcome displaced NetEpic fans.

I love SM 2, and Titan Legions was OK (Haven't managed to really get into epic versions since then).

Net epic appears to be SM2+ and looks good to me. I was just getting interested when the problems with the forum etc started.

Is incomming still being produced?

I honestly don't know for sure if Incoming is still being produced, but I hope it is.

SM2+ is a good description of NetEpic. They got rid of a lot of the confusing or badly written bits and replaced them with a commonsense approach that I really liked.

What race are you interested in Marengo?

I have a large Ork Army, a large IG army, a large Eldar Army, a decent sized Space Marine army and a small Chaos force.

I used to mostly use Eldar and IG back in the day, but built up the Ork army recently.

Incoming is indeed still being produced. I'm pretty sure more articles are needed.

Hi DS, it's good to hear from you and Primarch.  ;D

@marengo: Yeah, Orks are pretty good. I've only played with them a few times and I like their style. You sound like most of us older Epic players in that you have quite a collection. Hopefully you have some players nearby that you can play against.

I'll be finishing off a game this Sunday so shall post a BatRep soon after, I hope. I'll also be fighting as a 3K Tyranid Hive against 3K of Chaos or Eldar on the same day too. The guy had said Tyranids were rubbish and I said I'd show him he was wrong so here's hoping, although they slaughtered the Tyranids in v5 with all the crippling of the Bio-Titans IMO.

Yeah! My favourite Mr H!  :-*

netEpic? I know I've heard that word before... Where oh where?

And while TacCom's been down I've come to read E40k.
Apart from numerous mis-spellings its really nice rules.
Yeah, some rules need polishing, but the basics are sound.
But I'm digressing.  ::)

Oh Noes! He's found me!  :D

Welcome Erik me ol' mucka'. E40K, eh?.. Nice?  :o

I never liked that game, it was overly simplified and too large a departure from SM2 for my tastes. After a few games I learned that as long as you understood engagement ranges and could amass firepower onto one target then it was easy to win. I could see what they were trying to do but I don't think anyone felt it worked. The only good thing about it was when they pulled the plug. Man the amount of stuff I got half price from the GW stores!  ;D

That summarizes my feelings, too. I might have liked E40k if I didn't know anything about previous editions.
