Title: Gerroff! Spell
Post by: BlackEd on March 17, 2010, 02:04:29 AM
Orcs vs. Tomb Kings!  It was a great battle -- 2000 pts each.  Tomb Kings got the best of it though -- they killed 1135 points vs the Orcs 595pts.

During the game, the Orc shaman got off a few successful Gerrof! spells.  This ended pushing some undead units against other undead units.  In the case of shooting, I can choose not to move the target unit (unit behind does not make way).  Since undead cannot become confused, no problem.  Does Gerroff! work the same way?  We played that it did.

In one case, the Orcs Gerroffed a unit of Bone throwers --artillery -- a total of 17cm.  As I read the spell, this would not route the unit.  Correct?

I know that this is a very handy spell for the Orcs to have, but it seems of limited usefulness against the undead.

Thanks all!

Its works just like shooting with the exception of not routing a unit like you said. It is not that effectiv against undead but you can break up his brigades a little, if you target the last rows where there is noone in the way of driveback.

And undead are a little less tolerant of scattered brigades because of their limited command radius.

also it cannot be that the spell drives your unit back 17 cm. The spell is (iirc) 5xD6 - meaning roll 1D6 and multiply by 5 (thus getting a score from 5 to 30 in steps of 5).

cheers,

I had always asume that is 5 D(ice)6(sides). Throw five dices

We used to play it that way until we reread the description. Five dice would be 5d6, 5xd6 is a roll times 5.
