Has anybody fielded a Warmaster Samurai army? I am putting a Samurai army together based on the army list in the Trial Armies list.
I have a bunch of Samurai from Pendraken, and I will be assembling these soon. I've got a friend who likes Samurai very much, and I'm hoping this encourages him to play Warmaster more often.
If anyone has pictures or suggestions or can point to battle reports involving the Samurai, I'd be grateful.
Thanks!

I know some distributors who produce(d) 10 mm medieval-japan figs : "minifigs", "Irrégular Miniatures", "Pendraken" and "Magister Militum".

We played a good many battles with the various flavours of samurai army when we where playtesting them during development by the ODT.
Not sure if there are write-ups around anymore, I would need to check my archive disks. AFAIR they where always fun to play, and pitching the various flavours against each other will make a small figure collection go a long way (essentialy you get more armies out of one collection, which of course is the same reason to play Green Kislev, Green Bretonians and Green samurai..........)

Lex, thanks for looking. I like how the break point works for the army -- like the Brettonians. I am curious what people used as miniatures for the Dragonne, temple dogs, temple imps and temple oni.
Because, after all, I want to have a monk-themed army and a Samurai themed army. ;)

any properly garishly painted goblins and orcs or even trolls would do for the various kinds of japanese spirit/demon
IIRC there is some templedogs in 15 mil that would do, or you can look for some semi-oriental charmbraclethangers in a dime store

Now pendraken have a range of samurai apes... maybe could make good onis painted in red or with a little conversion.
just an idea

I did a search. Now I know what an Oni is. I wonder if the Khorne bloodletters would be a good choice?
Thanks!
