Hi all, I finally managed to take some decent(ish) pictures of my fledgling Chaos army... thanks to my girlfriend, who showed me how to set up my camera. A bit of Photoshop retouching and here we go now...
I'm not the greatest of miniature painters, because I lack the patience required. However, I do love converting my minis, even at 10mm scale. So there might be some interesting bits to spot here and there.

Here we have a few close-ups of my cavalry so far...

No pictures are showing ???

Thanks for the heads up. I think I fixed it now... please let me know if they are still not showing, though...

Very nice work here.
Whilst it is easy to get a grimy looking army, it is hard to make it stand out.
You have managed this with your great putrid skin tones and attention to detail.
I love it.
As for less models per base, I ended up going this way too for chaos makes more sense and saves some cash.
But some people here go even further ;)
So is this complete if so what is your next project?
-
Thank you for the nice comments :)
Still not that happy with most of the bases, but I'm sure I'll figure it out when I get to the end of it.
Three more units and one or two characters left to paint for my 2000 points line-up. I do plan to expand it well beyond 3000 points at some stage, though.
Got some Epic Squiggoths lying around which will be converted to become my Dragon Ogres and plenty of other funky plans. Do you think Nurglings would make for good Nurgle Trolls or something like that?
Plenty more projects lined up, but I'm something like the slowest painter in the world... not to mention the time I spend converting my stuff.
Planned are several Blood Bowl teams (including Nurgle) and then a WM Empire Army from Averland, for which I also wanna include some Pikemen to represent the high use of mercs in the province. Oh great, more fiddly converting :P

Just seen this - they're really good!
My advice re the basing - lighten it up by doing something like a drybrush of bleached bone and adding dead static grass. Then paint the edges of the bases a light brown or green colour. This may help 'frame' the units and brighten them up whilst keeping their horrible, nurglish look.
Just an idea.

Very nice! um.. I mean.. "ugly"... ;)
Love the idea of an Chaos Nurgle army theme, not Demonic Power of Nurgle
-
Very nice looking army - I like the rotting pigs!

Thank you for the nice comments, guys... really appreciate it :)
The rotting pigs used to be Epic Cyboars. I just cut off the rider and other "techy" looking things, then just sculpted on the rot with greenstuff. They were lots of fun to make.
I'm keen to expand the army. Got all the bits I need, just not the time or space at the moment.
You're comments might just get me motivated, though...

this is really really well done, they look great!
-
Beautiful stuff! I especially like the scratch built stuff and sculpted chaos-y bits
-
Great work! What mini did you use as the nurgle general? Is it an epic daemon?
-
The general is one of the Warhammer/ 40k Nurglings by the looks of it (an older version than any on sale direct from GW now)- A good choice of miniature

Not the best picture
Overall this is an excellent looking army- I always prefer very dark colour schemes
-
Thanks guys, really appreciate the kind words.
Yip, Geep is correct, it's one of those guys in the link. He didn't have a weapon (because I cut it off ages ago), so I just stuck a plastic card blade on and sculpted a handle out of greenstuff.
The general's retinue are an Epic Ork Weirdboy and Runtherd (in case anyone was wondering) with some more gs sculpting for the cloaks.
-
Schwager, they look great! I really like the general and the mage.
-
Those look mighty cool! Usually not a nurgle fan myself but the subtle green looks great on those evil norsemen! :)
