Hi all, I had a question about the Bakka Fleet list. In the BFG Annual.
1. The Defense turret says that any cruiser may take a S1 turret for 5pts and a S2 turret for 10pts. By "cruiser" does this mean only a regular battle cruiser, cruiser, or light cruiser? or does it refer to any ships of the line?
2. Is the Bakka list viable as in tournament legal or is it considered just experimental and not an official fleet variant?
3. In bfg magazine issue #2 the rules are different with one fleet entry missing. I am assuming that that ship no longer exists and the BFG Annual replaces any fleet entry previously stated?
4. assuming that lets say I take a "cruiser" with 2 turrets in it's profile, and I buy the S2 turret upgrade giving it S4 turrets. If I brace/get crippled/etc would still half my turret Strength back down to 2 correct?

2.No, unofficial, needs opponents permission.
4.Yes.

Any clarification on question 1?

1. Imho any ship which is listed as "Cruiser/x" in its profile under "type/hits" counts as a cruiser. The S1 FDT apparently can also be mounted on escorts.
Btw. these Fleet defense turrets seem quite powerful because they would also reduce the number of attack runs from bombers.
4. BFI doesn't reduce turret strength. A crippled cruiser with 2 turrets and 2 FDT should have 1 each but a crippled cruiser with 2 turrets and 1 FDT is tricky.

Thus cruiser as in Grand Cruiser, Battle cruiser, Heavy cruiser, Light cruiser.
Crippled halves turrets, BFI indeed doesn't.

thanks for the clarification. Always wanted to play with the Bakka fleet rules but since there really wasn't an faq or clarification on stuff I was hesitant to field the list
