Hello all
I bought a lot of bretonnian unreleased last year. There where some hellberdiers, which i know are truly unreleased, but there was a hero too. The ebay description mentioned it as a hero not even referenced on the http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Warmaster_-_Unreleased (http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Warmaster_-_Unreleased).
Could someone confirm on infirm that fact please ?

To be honest.....I doubt this is a GW unreleased WM item.
It´s not detailed enough.....to plain and no real hat/face.
If there is one thing you can 100% say about GW products ...it is the fact that the really produce high detailed products.
But .... maybe I´m wrong with this assumption in this specific case....who knows ::)

Claus

But it looks very much like the GW bretonnian knight. Maybe it was a first production and they took it as a base to model further on?

Looks like a test piece for the knights errant or something. I would say it definetly GW as the horse and rider except for the helmet decoration and the lance is identical to the standard knights.

My friends 5k bretonnian army is made up of these figures.
Yes, they are unreleased GW warmaster figures.

The Brettonian range was done twice. The first time was more of a mock up for testing the game and some of the concept models seem to have gotten out. Dave Andrews sculpted all of them some appear in an old White Dwarf in a Future of Warmaster article.

I have that one in active service since 2000, and some of the pre-cast Bretonian Spearmen, who where significantly smaller then the current ones

There's actually some 6mm Brets floating around somewhere, the game was originally going to be done in plastic. I guess that the shelved that idea when they compared the costs of doing all the races in plastic compared to metal, and the plastics ended up being tBotFA.
And of course don't forget the ultra-rare Project Norse stuff. Whilst none of it was sculpted 'in-house' by GW, the models were cast on the then studio casting machine and the mould then destroyed. You can't really get any rarer than that now can you? I think that I've still got a couple floating about, so if I do run a Warmaster event I'll probably try to cobble together a set as a first prize. Not that the sculpts stand up that well compared to GW released stuff of course, although Steve's 2nd sculpt was pretty good, mine did basically look like a gnome with a big axe...

I had heard about those rumors. Thanks for confirming them.
The infantry and this hero seemed less detailed and it was something arguing in favor of this "preview army". I didn't know they where smaller.

Is there many models ? More than those in the warmaster unreleased section of the CCM wiki ?

Very interesting. Could you tell us more about this project ?
