I just saw on Eureka's website that they've released another batch of 10mm figures.
Some appear to be a kind of fantasy china army, and others are kind of a savage wild army. Most of them look very good and I'm assuming that since prior work Alan Marsh has done for Eureka is fully scale-compatible with Warmaster minis that these are as well. It'll be interesting to see how the Chinese army gets designed and played.

(I don't work for Eureka and don't get anything special from them; I just check their website regularly since I have a proposal for 10mm bears for their 300 project. If you're a kislev player, order a unit or two's worth of bears!!)

this is interesting because i can now make a variant cathay or inde list for warmaster using the araby list
1. delete camels
2. substitute "Celestial Dragon" for "Djinn"
3. substitute "Kirin" for "Magic Carpet"

Wow the lions look awesome, they surely make a great chariot engine for the high elf chariots. :)
-
True. And I like so called "daemonaurs" ;D
-
These are great.
I knew the daemonaurs were coming, just didn't know when so I made my own.
But these are great.
As for a cathay list there is one already in the trial armies book. :)
The lions are also a welcome addition as the splintered light ones are a tad on the large size for drawing lion chariots :)

Cathay list is not even trial and does not include elephants. Looking to make an anam/viet based list

Cathay and Indus lists where done considerable time ago by the Oriental Design Team. Araby and Nippon where more firmly and formaly tested etc. I might be able to dig up the Indus list work if anyone is interested

Oddly enough the Time of Legends series, but more specifically those dealing with Nagash are good sources of inspiration for a Cathay army. For example, even way back then it is clear that they had gunpowder weapons of some kind...

Yes please
Are the Cathay Nippon and list the same as the fan based list published?

@fracas - what I meant was there is a list in the trial armies compendium.
Whether you think it is valid is another matter.
The same issue exists with most lists in the compendium.
-
@Lex: I'm interrested to receive your Indus list since I'm gathering an Indus force to include it to the Soul Storm campaign final.

i know
the tourney and trial lists look great
but the "fan list" designation make it seems "not ready for prime time"

Just semantics mate.
I play a few of the fan lists all the time, admittedly not cathay but it is on the list of things to do ;)
