I've always been interested in samurai ever since seeing "7 samurai" when i was 12.
I've painted a 28mm Perry samurai army which has since been sold to fund new additions to my lead mountain and i wouldn't start a new one, but i still feel the urge to push little lead samurai figures around a tabletop so i decided to take a shot at warmaster.
Using warmaster also allows me to let my imagination wonder, so i can field a historical sengoku period samurai army as well as a Nippon army from the warhammer world! (2 birds with one stone.....typical miserly scotsman!!)
10mm's not a scale i'm used to painting, but with lots of companies out-there producing them, there are some lovely figures kicking about.
Afte reading DaveC's thread on the Kallistra samurai with size comparison pictures compared to GW and copplestone
(link here: http://www.sg.tacticalwargames.net/forum/index.php?topic=1638.0 )
i thought i would give them a shot. (They're just that wee bit bigger than 10mm...which suits me!)
I've so far painted up my general, a mounted hero and a dismounted hero and i'm quite happy with the results.
I'll post my idea's that i thought might work for an army list and hopefully some more pics as i get figures painted.
Any comments and criticism are most welcome.
Cheers all.

Those look great

Nice and very detailed especially for a 10mm "beginner". After getting used to the size you'll see that it's quite nice to paint them and takes less time than the bigger models (less area to paint...).
Those flowers are incredible! Is that Photoshop or how did you do them?

Welcome to the forums.
These are absolutely brilliant.
My gaming buddy is in the process of deciding between these and OK I think this may just swing it for him.
I look forward to more examples of this army in the near future.
More importantly with WM though, have you managed to find an opponent?

Hi guys,
thanks for the kind words! :-[
These figures took a wee while to paint. I kept on finding bits i had missed or had wrongly painted! I hope once i get used to them i can pick up the pace a bit or i'll be here forever trying to get an army finished!! (or more likely chuck it!!)
The flowers are made by a company called silflor. I bought them online from antenocitis workshop. I wasn't sure if they were to big for the bases but i think they look not too bad?
Let me know what you think!
I still have'nt got an opponent yet......allthough my dad seems very interested. It just means i'd have to paint another army for him to use! (allthough i do have one in mind!!)
Another of my friends seems keen but he has about a dozen other painting projects on the go, and not all off them the good kind! (bathroom and kitchen!) So i'm kind off on a solo mission just now!
Here's the picture of my dismounted hero. Again more flowers!!
Thanks again for the comments!

Opponents are a rare commodity in this game :'(
You have the right idea though, I painted up a couple of spare armies for 2 mates to get them hooked then they eventually bought their own :)

Azrael has it right!
I'm working up BOFA armies for the release of the hobbit; with an eye to running a few games at a local convention.

Note that there are some print and play PDFs that can give you a chance to kick the game around before you've got armies painted up.

Vey nice looking models!
It's a long shot, but if you're near Glasgow there is a group of 4 or 5 of us at a local games club that are getting back into playing Warmaster.
