A very quick question: Can stands that are charged in the flank be supported by friendly stands?
All the rules say on this is that the supporting stands have to be facing in the same direction, there's no mention of flank/rear charges making any difference (though the diagrams show frontal charges).
For what it's worth we've gone with the rules as written and said yes but I may have missed something (or an errata).
Thanks.

No, there is no support in flank charges.
....Note that a stand touched by enemy to its front and sides or rear
during the combat round can be supported, but a stand touched by enemy only to its sides or rear cannot.
-
When only charged in the flank then ... NO.
If charged to flank or rear and front then there would be the possibility to get support.
The rule says....that a stand needs to fight to it´s front to get support !!!
Rulebook page 44:
A stand can only support if it is not touching an
enemy and the unit it belongs to is not confused. The
stand must be aligned either exactly behind or exactly
beside a stand that fought to its front during the
combat round. The supporting stand must also be
facing in the same direction as the supported stand as
shown in the accompanying diagrams. Note that a
stand touched by enemy to its front and sides or rear
during the combat round can be supported, but a
stand touched by enemy only to its sides or rear
cannot.

Thanks guys. A further question then, as I don't think that my printed rulebook has all of that text (I'll check tonight), are there any clues to making sure a rulebook I buy now will have this text? I'll likely be heading to ebay for one and I don't want to duplicate mine. I'm assuming that there were two versions printed?

LRB

I guess I could print out the LRB but was there a second version of the print copy? And if so, is it significantly different (i.e. worth getting). I'm not a fan of printed out books but if that's the only way forward I'll download it from GW and get a copy bound.
Thanks, P.

There is a PDF with all relevant bits & pieces for you to print out and then cut & paste into your book @ Warmuster.....

I did it and it works perfectly!
-
And to your other question: there's only one printed version.
-
Fantastic, thanks for all the answers. It looks like it's time to get the glue out. :)

Somewhere around here someone linked a copy of the LRB that has all the errata photoshopped in; as well as the army updates.
Printed out isn't ideal, but goto an office supply store (Kinkos, Staples or office max stateside) and they can laminate the front and back covers, and spiral bind it. Generally around $10.
If you don't have a two sided printer, or a color printer, it can be worthwhile to use those features to.
I plan on doing that next week for the January Tournament.
