Title: Has the kislev bubble burst?
Post by: azrael71 on February 15, 2011, 01:29:04 PM
I noticed that a recent 'pro-painted' kislev army on ebay only went for what is the current retail value (around £8.50 a unit).

Does this herald an end to the outrageously priced 'OOP/rare' kislev listings or is it just that the few people who are in the market for this army already have one.
Let's hope so :)

I was watching it - but didn't bid.  He might have done better if he had taken some close up shots and maybe put a little more effort into the listing (like listing out what the units were, etc.).  I just saw more Kislev on the market for sale by unit as well.

Yes my mate is watching these.
My 2000 points of Kislev just arrived so I won't be needing anymore.
Just an araby army, a SOC pack and a unit of knights errant and I am all done :)

I think I am going to skip Kislev to be honest.  I'm close to done with what I want for my High Elves, pretty good sized Chaos Army, and have some Undead coming now.  I ordered a few packs from Magister Militum of Wood Elves to see if I can make a decent force with those...I think Dark Elves or Araby might be next on my list of armies to do.

That was how I started, but it all went downhill sharpish ;)

I should know better...been gaming since I was 12.  I've actually done a really good job of only collecting/playing in one scale (10mm).  Every once in a while, I get distracted and buy something...but I usually end up selling it and paying a stupid tax on it.

Kislev army sold few days ago on ebay had no really interesting units. No knights and not a really playable army. i suppose that is why it went for few. Lucky man who bought it.

I am slowly getting rid of my 28mm mountain of lead (well, more of a mole hill now) and replacing it with a mountain of 6mm and 10mm, including several warmaster armies.

6K of Chaos painted and I will have 6K of Orcs finished very soon.
I may then return to my abortive start on painting the Empire (15 units of infantry done already).

I intend to die before I have painted everything.....

@marell.
Well the one I just bought was way under £8 a unit. for over 2000 points of very playable army.
After all there are only a finite amount of players of the game and an even smaller subset who go after the rare oop stuff.
To be honest kislev come up more regularly on eBay than some of the in print armies :)

Yep. Skavens are rare and araby too. you were right to wait a little. Prices were mad last year.

That's probably because they are both "newer" armies in the release schedule and they are probably two of the most gorgeous lines ever done for Warmaster. I have large armies for them both but currently unpainted.

Just wait and see what happens to the price of them on e bay should specialist games ever fold!!!!! It will make Kislev look cheap I suspect!
