Quick question why are autoguns the same cost as lasguns but are clearly inferior. The lasgun has a better ammo roll and also has a save modifier.
The auto pistol and laspistol are different in that the autopistol doesn't have a -1 at long range, but the las pistol has the better ammo roll, so there's a trade off between the two.
It's just ended up that all the models we own that have autoguns count as lasguns, as no one wants to own an autogun

Autogun is 20 creds
Lasgun is 25 creds

What MT said. Autoguns are cheaper. I generally don't bother with Autoguns much, unless I'm strapped for cash and desperately need that extra ganger.

haha that kinda makes my argument null and void, they don't cost the same. I'd still not bother with one though seems to be a bit of a waste of points, shame as there's only 3 other choices.

We added a house-rule to Autoguns, to make them more attractive, but for the life of me I can't what it was.
I know it involved being able to shoot twice at short range if stationary, but I think we had a -1 modifier on both shots....
Was admittedly years ago though, and under 1st ed rules (which we still play if I'm honest).

That sounds like a quite a good rule, it never quite made much sense to me that a machine gun only fired once per turn. ( maybe they're meant to be rifles, but my Escher one looks like "Animal Mothers" machine gun from "Full Metal Jacket") I think I'll ask my gaming group what they think about using that one

NCE dropped the short range of the las to 0-8 I believe.
