Title: minimus and maximus
Post by: jchaos79 on June 04, 2009, 08:58:04 PM
Hi,

As I understand from the rulebook you must buy the minimus units (dwarf example: general + 2 warriors = 375pts) for a 1000 pts battle. And 2 warriors for every +1000

so 1000 pts battle need 2 warrior + general

until 2000 pts battle need 4 warrior + general ... and so on.

I understand that if you play a 1500 pts, it is needed to buy general +4 warriors = 595

Am I right?    (It could seem a very amateur question... but I have curiosity) Do you guys play buying the minimus in that way or only applied minimus when you get to 1000 fraction?

twisting the idea and taking it to an extreme example:
I understand that if you play a 1005 pts battle it also requiers in the dwarf example to buy 1G+4warrios 595 pts, so you will have less points to spend in other units than 995 pts battle. This rule doesnt bother me, I love min/max mechanisim, but as I said I have curiosity for know how do you play.

I hope I have explain... :-\

cheers :)

normaly use min/max per 1000 points.  so any games that are agreed to play with 1K min/max use 1* min/max and for anything 1000-2000 use 2* if you agree, or simply 1K too. At events the organizer should inform you what size games are played and what lvl min/max

Going by the rulebook you have to use Min/max for full 1000/2000/3000 pts and so on. So with 1500 pts you use Min/Max for 1000.

Of course some armies have a bit of a problem with that, ie Undead. They have a lot of troops with 1500pts but not too much characters using 1000pts Maximum. So some houserules say you can use the Minimum for 1000pts and the Maximum for 2000pts.

Hope I confused you even more now.  ;)
