Hi all
Hve lurked around here for some time now and watched all the nice stuff people are doing. So now I thought that I would be put to the test and post some of my minis in a tred for you all to comment on ;). At the moment I am having a go at some Warmaster Empires and they are really nice to paint in my opinion! I have also managed to get my hands on some old Epic Imperial Guard models that I like a lot. I am at the moment putting the pensil at them and will give you some pictures when I have any good ones.
So first out is my Empire Army for Warmaster. I have gone with a paint scheme for the Lands of Ostermark. All the baners are painted by hand since they are cast on the miniatures. At the moment I am building to reach 1000 pt. And are well on my way there and have one unit of knights and two units of pistoliers left to paint.
So here are some pictures:

A picture of one of my generals... (He often finds himslef being an objectiv at a tavern or something...)

The general I use in the battles, he walks like a man and stays with the infantry!

A light wizard.

Captain of the white wolf, a hero to help lead my cavalry!

The first unit of Halberdiers...

The flower of the Empire, the knights... these are from Ostland, a remnant from when I first started Warmaster many years ago...

And a close up.

And a group shot, the second crossbow unit was not ready when I took this shot.
Well that was all for now and at the moment I am painting some old Epic stuff and will return with pictures when I got some done. Will also put the knife on some more knights and pistoliers for the Warmaster army to!

looking awesome

Wunderbar!
Your banner are a source of inspiration. I am suffering with them myself, I started my own empire more than one year ago, but getting the banners right has been blocking me. Not even 1000 pts ready by now.
I particularly like the Ostland ones. The griffon is amazing, and so is the bull.
Please keep posting.

Is the lifestock N-gauge railway models ??
-
Your Ostermark troops look awesome (the Ostlanders aswell :)). I'm happy to see another great paint scheme as I'm still wondering how to paint my Empire army.
Btw nice banners!
-
absolutely outstanding work.
The level of detail is amazing as are the banners.
-
Very nice work.
I would suggest that you make sure every fig without a helmet has dark lines to mark their eyes, that would definitely improve your army and that is very simple to do ;)
-
Excellent - welcome to the forum and well done for painting Empire to such a high quality - they're better than mine!
(Vincent - you're a serious painting nutter if you have to paint eyes on 10mm figures!!!!)
:)

:)
Sure I'm nuts ;)
But I'm only taking about painting a dark line where the eyes are. Believe me, that adds a lot to your army even when seen from 70cm. Its a bit like doing lining: it improved readability and help your army to stand out.
-
Thx all for the kind words on my painting!
Vincent you have a point there, will see if I do somthing about it...
Lex: The livestock is 10mm from pendraken miniatures if I remember correctly or was it Magister Militiumm will look it up and return with an answer for you. I am a sucker for thing around the army and are at the moment also building a camp for my soldiers to rest in...

Every fighting man, orc, elf or whatever should have the basicneeds catered for !
a dry place to sleep

a hearty drink to boster his spirits
and a lusty wench to sheet his sword in ........

Very nice. Those banners are awesome and I love your color choices!

As my mates says the banners are superb. The look of the army has a lot of strenght.
Love this shephard with the sheeps!

Well, well I have some troops but I lack terrain... So I have started to build and finish of some older terrain projects I have started some time ago. In the pictures below the farmbuildings are older pieces that I made and the coaching inn is a building I have started this weekend.
It is fun to create terrain but it is hard to estimate how much you need in Warmaster. As you can see from the pictures I have mounted my buildings on bases and am trying to build a little diorama of the pieces. Many that play Warmaster place there buidings on the board one and one with space for the troops to move past the buildings in neat lines... That seems strange to me since you rarley buid a farmstead with the thought that troops shall be able to move past without trouble ;) Thats why I am doing bases for my buildings. Troops can still occupy the farmstead for example and defend it, but you as a player have to be a little imaginative about how to solve it in game terms. ???
My Vietnam project is now done for the year and soon a company of IG to Epic is done. On the table now some Empire Knights have taken place and I am going to start painting them this week. They are going to be Knights of the Blazing Sun and I am also going to paint a new Hero that is going to be A Captain of the Blazing Sun to keep the army togheter nicly.
Well here are some pictures, will return with IG when they are done and also more pictures of my buildings when the are done... the knights will take some time but they will also apear here in time...

To show the scale I placed some troops in front of the building.

A burnt down farmstead... base needs doing!
Well that was all for now but I hope I will return soon with more pictures. Until then may you all roll many sixes!

I also need something to destroy the buildings with...
Well I got bored painting Vietnam etc, so took a quick break and painted these...

Very nice looking buildings. I'll probably take inspiration from them when I come to making some WM terrain of my own.
A nicely painted Orc as well, although he'll need some friends to tackle all of those buildings...
-
COOL BUILDINGS.
Great work.
-
The buildings are superb
-
great work on the buildings
-
Very very nice !!!
How did you do the roof?
-
Well the main buildings are done. Next step is to do the courtyard, forge and stable... Then I will start to paint it all.
Vincent: The roofs on the farmstead buildings are made of old towls that i cut out to a proper size and stuck it to the roof with PVA glue. Then I painted the towl with watered down PVA and let it dry. This makes the towl easier to paint. Not that fancy actually... but it looks nice anyway!

Thx for the tutorial :)

Well a quick update... I could not stop my self and started to paint the coashing inns main buildings. I also am done with the first company of Imperial Guard infantry and will show you some snap shots of them as well. The bases is note done on all of them yet.
First out one photo of the coaching inn. I have still to finish the roof and the back of the houses. But I think that you will get the idea of how it will look when done.
Then two pictures og the Imperial Guard. I am not that happy about how they turned out. Could have gone for more bolder colours like a lighter grey for example. Oh well they are painted anyway and there are more colourful armys that I can paint later like the Eldar for example...
Thats all for now/

Great idea with the towel!!
As to the IG, I think they look quite nice. The one suggestion I might have to liven them up: some brighter colored flocking, or maybe a colored dry-brushing on the bases.
