When does a model in full production constitute as being RARE?

In this case obviously ???

Rarely bought from GW? :)
At least he marks a NIB item as "used"
-
A pack of Kislev Axemen and Kislev archers both went for a combined price of nearly £70 on Sunday - now that's E Bay insanity!

I suspect that some people just don't do their homework when selling models.
I've seen plenty of cases where people have advertised models as out of production or rare when they're still available freely on the GW website.

Winner for "didn't do the research prior to listing it":

OK so in which historical battle were hydras a major feature?

ah, but it is 'professionally painted' :)
Yes by someone who sprays cars for a living lmao ;)

I think when Hannibal crossed the Alps he took War Hydras with him.
-
War Hydras do poorly at altitude and walking over stone... especially when improperly shoed.
-
Hannibal's Hydra Corps all died when trying to cross the Alps - only a couple of measly Elephants made it apparently didn't you know?

It keeps coming back on for £20 :)

Yeah I just watched an item go up and up and up to a astounding price today:
1 completely stock IN retribution with an ok but basic paint job (basic adeptus grey and highlights with antiqued gold around the structural details - nothing crazy). I started watching it earlier in the week when it was running about $14 USD - well worth the price as an addition and something that one could use to quickly bootstrap a new model with.
By this AM a bidding fenzy must have hit these people and they priced it up to $102! :o

i just shook my head and wondered why. I mean it's a fine enough job but I have two dozen cruisers and battleships sitting in my hobby room right now of at least the same if not better paint jobs and most have small but unique conversions to give them some character.

Shill bidding.
Idiots bidding.
Very smart sellers who know what search words people like to use.
People buying things for others, and not knowing exactly what they're buying, thinking if it's on Ebay it must be cheap.
