I'm going to be starting some work on my high elf chariots and cav after the spearmen and was wondering what ideas people have for banners/pennants for the command stand?
Anything good bits-wise out there? I'm looking for something triangular in shape, preferably plastic or metal over paper.

Thick tin foil sprayed white is a good option. Use super glue to stick it to a banner pole. Ben it to the shape desired before you paint it or it will crack the paint!
I stick on transfers from the WHFB/WH40K range (you can pick these up cheap from e bay)

How delicate does that prove?
I found this thing (oddly enough a 40k Dark Eldar banner) that I think will give me two decent pennants:

I used paper strips for pennants. The paper doesn't break, it bends. So far, not problems with paint flaking off.
For my mounted Samurai, I created my own back banners using a paperclip and pieces of plastic card. I superglued the plastic card to the paperclips. Pictures will be on my painting thread one of these days. The nice thing about the plastic card is that once it is scored, you can snap it, which means that it is reletively easy to create lots of pieces with straight edges.
But here I am talking to a man who drilled out all those HE spear handles... ;)

So I've got a couple of options then, we'll see what works.
If you're giving a sashimono to every samurai that puts you firmly in the "a new spear tip for every elf" category. :P
