Title: Two tyranid questions
Post by: Seahawk on November 04, 2011, 04:28:13 AM
I have a couple questions due to a recent game:

Can Tyranid refits be used in one-off games at all? I didn't think so, but wasn't sure.

When choosing port/starboard weapons for capital ships, does that mean 3 port and 3 starboard (so 6 choices) or just 3 port/starboard in total? I thought it was the latter, but can't really tell.

Hi,

refits:
pre FAQ2010 : allowed
since FAQ2010: allowed if opponent agrees

choosing weapons:
3 choices in total. Port/Starboard mirrors.

Gotcha. We agreed to use them next time; he wanted two extra hits/shields for his three capital ships, and I just wasn't prepared to face 4 shield, 8 hit cruisers and a 6 shield, 12 hit hive ship!

And that's what I figured for weapons. I'll let him know for next time (unless he finds his way on here!).

The +2 hits + 2 spore variant is the exact reason why people called upon disallowing refits for one-off games.

Thus why Adepticon is running 3 separate refits, 1 upgrade of each type so you can have a 11/5 hive ship but not the 14/6 monstrosity.
