When making our armies for warmaster we have to choose the figures to compose the units. There are a number of manufacturers out there and there are also a lack of a web site to see pictures and ideas related to warmaster focus in painting an conversions.
The idea is making a space around here to share pictures and ideas.
First of all are you interested in this topic?
I propouse a subforum, where all of you start a new threat for each miniature reference of different manofacturers. Each entry is suposed to contain:
- A picture of bare metal figures which containg the manufacturer reference.
- Contributions of the same miniature painted for different members of the forum to take paint ideas
- homerules about the units made with this reference
- comments and ideas for conversions
- Whatever you would like to discuss about the miniatures
An idea for a quick search of references could be this: There is a thread called catalogue or something where a moderator copy the link to the different threats of the subforum and in this manner could be quicksearched to take ideas or discover new miniatures and expand our armies.
what do you think about that?

i like this idea, and would be able to contribute (though im not very good at taking photos) i have some Magister Militum, TB Line, irregular, Kallistra and Pendraken which i could photo and post.
-
Brilliant idea. I'd also recommend having a stickied scale guide, where you take pics of miniatures from the different manufacturers and place them side by side to see difference in size. I'm looking at you Kallistra!

Just found a couple of manufacturers that i'd not seen before:
http://blackcatbases.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=437_659&products_id=2956
their mounted conquistadors look sweet and come with seperate arm variants
and
http://www.hinchliffe.co.uk/list.htm
Do a few 100years war stuff which is always usable
-
The conquistadores and indians are from Obelisk a german manufacturer,
The Hinchliffe models are new for me so thank you very much Happymcclap.
still thinking the catalogue is worth, so If is there no drawbacks I will start it this month.

I'll help as much as i can, im am trying to purchase at least 1 pack from each manufacturer for my own comparison purposes, so this idea is right up my street. I recently e-mailed Magister militum about there range as some are slightly smaller than others here is there response, which could be added to you info:
"We used two sculptors on the 10mm ranges. One has a slimmer style of sculpting. The foot to eye height is pretty similar but with the base and helmet they do look different, especially as one is a more thickset sculpting style."
"The ranges done in the thinner style are, Celts, Early Germans, Carolingians, Sarmatians, Goths. The Saxons and Vikings are also in the thinner sculpting style, that is all of them"
Incidentlaay both styles are good sculpts just not compatible with each other.
Do you own any Obelisk mini's they look really nice?
-
I do not own obelisk, but I would buy them in the futures because they are perfect for a dogs of war army, and the figures seems great. They have the right arm attachable to you could construct the pose of the model
-
I have just ordered some Obelisk minis, and will take photos for the catalogue when they arrive, in the next week or so when i get time, i will upload photos of the other manufacturers i have, mainly medieval stuff but useful for Brets and Dogs of war fantasy lists.
-
Great Happymcclap! looking forward to see your uploads
-
well both Obelisk and Hinchcliffe miniatures arrived very quickly, i have taken photos ready for uploading, but gotta say the Obelisk miniatures are lovely, and i will certainly be ordering more, the Hinchcliffe miniatures are not as good but on a par with pendraken and give a bit of extra variety.

Can I post painted pictures?
-
i dont see why not many of mine will be of painted mini's
-
Can I post painted pictures?
Yes of course!! you can also answer a post showing the same unit painted or open new threats with painted figures to expand the catalogue.
The idea is gather pictures like a gallery, information, advices, conversions or stat rules related with each reference.
