Nice, keep us updated!
Red, IN = the Vaaish Imperial fleet build aside of the Endurance. Vaaish uses Dauntless. Interesting to see how this one will fare.
Green, IN = almost classic build.
Orks are gimmickish. Meh on the fleet build style.
CWE: allround, would've had a cruiser instead of escorts
Ultramarines = curious again
Chaos green, red&silver : what is this Murder love? Carnages needed. ;)
Seriously missing a competitve Corsair Eldar and Tau list.
Keep us posted! thanks,
-
Good Luck! I look forward to reading your commentary.
-
Yes its odd that there's no Tau or CE I'm surprised to not see any real power cheese, maybe that's a good thing tho as these all seem like they could be fluff driven fleets for the most part, even the Ork fleet is something that I would expect to be fluffy. It would be nice to see fleet pics along with their backstory.
-
The Ork fleet is.... odd. I don't really like the Kroozer/Rok mix personally. I prefer to use one or the other, and escorts with either. The Red/Gold chaos is a little competitive, otherwise nothing too bad.
-
Just got home...it's all said and done with 10 players (including Ringer).
The Overall Champion this year is...my Ultramarines fleet! :D
I'll have a battle report coming soon, so stay tuned.
-
Congrats man!

Nice to meet you in person, Seahawk.
Standings:
Red IN (Leland): W, W, L

Yep. From what I can tell for order:
1. W, W, W - Ultramarines
2. W, L, W - Nurgle Chaos
2. W, D, L - Yellow Tyranids
2. L, D, W - Word Bearers Chaos
5. W, W, L - Red Imperial Navy
6. L, D, D - Orks
7. W, W, L - Craftworld Eldar
7. L, L, D - Red/Gold Chaos
9. L, L, D - Green Imperial Navy
10. L, D, D - IN (Ringer)
-
Red IN: Leland had two really good games in the beginning, so much so, I thought he may have been able to win it. I think his success was from clustering his fleet. He ended up engaging half fleets with his whole because his opponents would split them up a bunch. I am not sure what happened in the 3rd game vs Green Chaos (never caught his name) but he struggled. Seahawk, you played the Green Chaos player. Do you remember his name?

Andrew...something.

Ok. TO here. I finally got home a couple hours ago and am a little more coherent.
I apologize for the time confusion during the day. That being said, I really wish that the Necromunda guys the night before hadn't been spread all over the room and making it impossible for me to completely do the early prep the night before.
That being said. The Final Scores.

Overall I hope you guys enjoyed the tournament. A somewhat dead local group has curtailed my playtesting of the scenarios a bit. Also I think we'll be doing some tweaking to the scoring for next year. I will add Player's Choice votes to the transports for next year. I also plan on trying to replace all the planets with some of those Core Sec Engineering planets I had the sample of today.

Thanks all. :)
That last list should've had the fleets added. ;)
Well done Seahawk.
Good to see Red IN (Vaaish build) hold up well.

There's some good looking fleets there, it's interesting to see almost no gw transports it actually looks like two people brought the same firestorm armada frigates as transports :P.
-
Yeah lots of sorylian love in there and why not? They're great little figures.
-
I took tons of video footage (that's why I went, actually), and I will be working on a video to upload soon.
-
I am very surprised that there was only 1 Carnage and 0 Dictators and 0 Retributions! Also, I am surprised there was no Corsair Eldar player.
-
we did have 7 people deign to not show up (1 came and said he was sick and the other from that pair of brothers was too tired to come...) and I think one of the other noshows was stated to be Corsair Eldar.
-

Retribution I can understand. Officially seen it cuts under.
And when you have an Emperor the Dictator comes less needed.
Now chaos never wins these tournaments. The Murder love is the reason why. ;) More CaRnAgE needed! heh
edit:
For the tournament all key factors are important. For us forum people the most interesting is fleet build, tactics and results. ;)
-
Maybe I'll take Chaos next time and win it, just to prove you wrong ;)
-
Desolator
2x Acheron
2x Carnage
2x Devestation
;)
-
...actually, that's the exact fleet I like using for Chaos...spooky! Though maybe take a third Devastation over an Acheron, but hey I have time to convert.
-
On seeing the pics of Lelands fleet, I wonder if he took NC on the lunars? I usually have those in my build and leave the torpedoes to the dauntless.
-
He did. He did tons of damage to the green IN mars in game 2.
-
Official results are up (though we already know them) ;)

Aww, it doesn't say who had what fleet. That's annoying!

Here is the BFG tournament pack if anyone is interested...
