Hello all. Just found this forum! I've been building a warmaster force ever since I snagged about 20 blisters at Gencon 2011 for $26 USD. In retrospect, I probably should have bought two armies because my undead are probably going to be lonely, but I digress.
I cannot wait to start a blog showcasing my efforts here!
In addition, does anyone know where to get either discount WM mini's, or an alternative, in the US?
thanks,
LM

Be very welcome Lord Marcus,
In trade and service of this forum you could get some out of productions figures http://sg.tacticalwargames.net/forum/index.php?board=45.0 also ebay is another source of this type of figures.
Searching for proxies there are a plenty range of 10mm figures out there non from GW (with their virtudes and their flaws) and you could try to make your own units. To search and look for ideas there is a living catalogue (you could contribute to it also with your pics of figures or painted units) here:

There is an opponent finder here http://sg.tacticalwargames.net/forum/index.php?topic=462.0 sometimes finding another gamers is a difficult task.
Share your pics, ideas and feel like in home!

Wow! That business ain't no monkey business... :D

Let me try and let you down gently by saying, you are never going to get 20 blisters for $26 again unless you get very lucky!
Anyway, welcome and glad to see more people finding the forum!

LM, where are you based out of?
20 for $26 is a good deal, and you can get close to that by buying in bulk. Get the bigger armies on eBay and sell what you don't need to help reduce the overall cost. As a little side hobby I've started noting down how much I've spent on armies just to get an idea of what I've spent. Most are less than $5 a unit. Lizardmen are the only exception right now, they're closer to $9. Although my Dwarves are around $3.50 a unit. The buying in bulk method makes for a large initial payment but you save money in the long run.

I've overbought a bunch of High Elves (too many archers!) but I'm swapping them for some Dwarves with someone here - so what I thought was a waste of money actually is going to be a fair swap to get me a 2000 point starter army of stunties!
So if you end up with things you don't need - there'll always be someone who probably wants your extras and wants to swap! =-)

welcome to the boards!! have a nice time here :P
