I remember being immensely helped by the "Grog's" guides back in the day. I wish they were still around.
I am hoping to grab links to as many fleet specific tactics articles as possible. Any recommendations?
Anyone up for writing one+? I am going to write one for each fleet from my perspective as well but I want to represent as many opinions as possible and compile them for new players. Also, I would like to link to Warprift as many times as there are articles so people can read the "how to use the tyrant cruiser" type articles.
-
Hi Dan,
I do not have the time to write an article but I could go over the ones you write and add extra's/tidbits.
-
I can proofread if needed
-
I posted some on my blog last year
-
Fracas, your tactics articles are amazing. Can I link to them in my posts on my blog?

Here is my first attempt with the Imperial Navy (duh)
Tactica: Imperial Navy (http://afterimagedan.blogspot.com/2012/06/tactica-imperial-navy.html)
Do keep in mind, this is my personal play style. I do think others can work well too.

Also, if anyone else wants to contribute, even a little blurb of the best Imperial Navy stuff, please post it here or message it to me. I would love to post it!

Tactica: Imperial Navy (http://afterimagedan.blogspot.com/2012/06/tactica-imperial-navy.html)
++AWAITING HORIZON TIDBITS++
++Fleet: The Imperial Navy++
Ships Using this Synergy: Retribution, Vengeance (with torpedoes in BFG:R), Avenger (with torpedoes in BFG:R), Armageddon, Overlord, Dominion (BFG:R), Gothic, Lunar, Tyrant, Dictator, Dauntless, Endeavor, Defiant, Endurance.
Horizon's note: without the 6+ prow the Grand Cruisers are a lesser choice in the "prow-on" fleet.
Generic Steamroller against a "basic" maneuverability type fleet:
Other types:
"The Traditional Gothic List"
Emperor Class Battleship, Leadership 8 admiral.
2x Dominator Class Cruisers
2x Gothic Class Cruisers
Escorts (Swords / Cobra's)
A rounded well travelled fleet. Good AC and long range coverage from the Emperor. Good barrage under 30cm from the cruisers.
"The Vaaish Fleet"
Emperor Class Battleship, Leadership 8 admiral.
2x Vengeance Grand Cruisers
2x Lunar Cruiser (NC)
2x Torpedo Dauntless
Escorts
This, in my opinion cool fleet, sprang forth from a great Imperial Navy discussion at Warseer:
http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?196900-Imperial-Navy-How-to-win-in-this-atmosphere
In this fleet the Grand Cruisers and Emperor benefit from eachothers broadside weaponry and 5+ prow. If you like more Attack Craft the Excorcist CG is good option to replace the Vengeance. The torpedo Dauntless are picked to give it the typical IN torpedo supplement.
-I find it very hard to leave home without some escorts.
Agreed. Escorts are great if used tactically well. Swords are great allrounders with good speed. Cobra's nifty speedy with a good torpedo punch, make sure to use the widowmaker upgrade. Falchions are an unique choice. Useful against AC heavy opponents with using 1 torp to thwart enemy waves.
-Squadron everything but your battleship.
Under official rules and the FAQ I disagree with this. The trouble of Bracing is a serious one. One ship needs to brace, the whole squadron is braced. Now when using two Lunars squadroning is adviced to maximize offensive power but when using Dominator/Gothic I advice on not squadroning them.

Just saw you IN guide - it was WONDERFUL (shotgun IN is awesome, but I do love nova spam 8) )
I actually can't wait for your Space Marine Tactica - would love to see what you got to say about them as they are nothing like Warhammer 40,000 Marines (essentially, a little hard to master)
Great though, great! ;)
-
I could definitely have a thing or two to add to the SM one...;)
-
Well I think you hit on most of the basics although the blurb about the nova was a bit lacking. The escort section was a bit hollow as well. Maybe in future installments have a more generic overview instead of one focused on a single build type (sledgehammer in this case).
-
Thanks Horizon! I will implement a Horizon section into the post (with a link to your blog of course).
AndrewC., mainly, I am hoping to write my take on the fleet and give some of the basics more than just an overview. Specifically, I would like the articles to be filled out a little more by other people contributing their take on or style of using the fleet. I don't really talk nova cannons because I don't use them in the IN fleet, however, I would like some tactics/strategies on using them from other people contributing some advice.

I would be honored
Maybe that would stimulate me to write up the other factions

Posted your stuff Horizon and put the Warmancer link at the bottom. I changed the part about recommending the Vengeance variants for the exact reason you stated (no 5+ prow).

Here's the article:
++Tactica: Corsaid Eldar MMS++ (http://afterimagedan.blogspot.com/2012/10/tactica-corsair-eldar-mms.html)
Please comment, share your experience, agree, disagree, let us hear your wisdom. If you are willing, I would love to add your thoughts to the article! Thanks, hope you like it!

You should make a grogs guide for chaos! You seem to have a pretty big chaos fleet, so I presume you like them and have played them extensively.
-
I'm not sure the order I am going to work but I am going to do Space Marines next, barring some inspiration to do a different fleet. I really want to do Craftworld Eldar at some point soon as well. Anything you guys would like to add or say, please do! I don't want this to be just my advice.
-
Hey,
nice work on the Eldar MMS.
-
Thanks! Anything you would like to add? I am sure you have a decent amount of say about MMS. ::)
