Hi all
I have been looking into the specialist games and think mordheim is what is best suited to me, love the background and charated and development. I found this link for a way of playing online without need to commit to buying the minatures

so was wondering if anyone on here would be interested in a) using this system b) be willing to put up with me getting the grasp of the system c) have any comments on my outlie of a starting warband (see below)
Captain (hammer and axe) 73gc
Champion (Double handed Hammer) 50gc
Champion (Spear and buckler) 50gc
Youngblood (axe) 20gc
Youngblood (Spear and buckler) 30gc
2x Swordsman ( 2 swords) 90gc
3x Marksman (bow and club) 114gc
Warrior (halberd) 35gc
Warrior (hammer and buckler) 33

Hi bsucbe,
What mercenary warband are you using (Reikland, Middenheim or Marienburg)? Each type of mercenary warband has slightly different perks which affect how your warband is created.
Generally though I recommend dropping the double-handed hammer, spear and halberds early on in the campaign and go for normal hammers. Get the double-handed hammer after your Champion gets the Strongman skill that cancels out the 'strike last' rule.
Cheers,
RL

Hi
Gone for middenheim
I played an online game and did alter it slightly, plus that band actually isnt allowed, made calculation errors, thought i had a few too many men!
champion, hammer and axe
champion, double handed
champion, spear and buckler
youngblood, double hander
youngblood, spear and buckler
2x swordsman, sword
3x marksman, crossbow
it performed quite well, but could really have used strongman, lost the champion to him having to wait, while the youngblood was already stunned.
In case anyone is interested i am trying with another player to run an entirely online campaign on the warseer forum and we are looking for interest now. Really good system we found and removes the issues of a lack of local opponents!

Lack of local opponents is definitely something that plagues Mordheim. :-[ Anything that can mitigate that is a good thing.

Agreed, i have never played a game in person, mostly due to lack of oponents, plus i have no models either.
However the campaign i mentined is now up and running

The test games went well, as has the first campaign game (though being the victor i would say that) and if you fancying following the campaignit will be kept on there as far as i know.
