Title: Ebay is busy
Post by: azrael71 on August 12, 2012, 05:17:51 PM
Loads of rares been up today.
Nice to see half kislev unit fetching such a high price :)

I was shocked to see how much the undead scorpion went for though.
This is usually a cheaper one of the rare units.

Kislev stuff went for just over £300.00 for a 1500pt army. Which really isn't that bad.

I picked up a horse archer unit for £16, which was the cheapest of any of the kislev items.

I also picked up both Annuals (2002 and 2003) and a bunch of the magazines. I'm still bidding on a few things though :)

I'm shocked at the prices of some of the rare units. The norse marauders, dwarf hammerers and undead scorpion are at very high prices.

All the better for us lucky few who are hoarding the rare stuff :)
The price of the kislev stuff has just bumped up the price of my army :)
Especially as some of the units went for over £20 and were only half size.

I just nabbed 3 of the 4 orc terrain villages. I'm pretty happy at how cheap those ended up going. Wish I could have got the first one :( I was snipped!

I'm just trying to get some of the Empire ones but people are being crazy and throwing cash past the £5/£6 mark I normally pay.

Only won a Silver Helms unit for £3 so far.  People were bidding New prices on those High Elf spearmen, bizzare.

And just so you know Time of Madness, you can get the horse archers for the normal £8.70 price straight from GW.

Yes the horse archers I picked up were the "kislev" ones not the ones you can buy right now on GW (steepe horse archers). There are 2 different variants. The other pack of horse archers went for £23 which was more then I was willing to pay.

This seller must have made a killing today.

240 pounds for the hammerers?!?

I had my eye on a lot of this stuff, hoping prices would go down due to the market being a bit flooded with rare stuff. Guess not...

£103 for a MNIB pack of the Norse Marauders.  Jesus wept.  I guess some people are reading bad things into their tea leaves to be so concerned about snapping up the OOPs!

OK sorry about the horse archers, I thought there was only one.  But seriously this isn't the first time I've seen people pay more than £8.70 for stuff that is freely available on GW.  Some Empire Knights I bid on went for £9.50.  What is wrong with people?

Well for the first time ever I had to throw in the towel. I lost the hammerers. He bid 240 pounds!  :o

I am speechless....

Some of us live in Australia. 9.50 pounds is cheap, even with postage costs...  :(

Well I was fairly happy with my purchases today. Ended up with the following

- Warmaster Annuals (2002 and 2003)
- Magazines 1, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16 and 19 (only need a couple more to complete my collection)
- 3 Orc Villages, got snipped on the first one :(
- Forgeworld ships/castle cannons
- Battering ram (not sure if it GW, but looked pretty sweet)
- 1 of the kislev horse archer lots

Prices were insane, but I got a lot of what I bid on.

Nice haul.

The battering ram was a GW one, but appeared to be missing the roof, from what I could see in the pic. Still, easy to make your own replacement.

I snagged all the special characters.  ;D

Did not get the Hamerers and I lost out on the OOP knights while focusing on the dwarfs.

It is always a good day if I can pick up OOP stuff that I do not have. Even if I lost out on pretty much everything else.  :-\

Are these prices current "going rates" on the oop stuff? It would be helpful to have a post with current going rate prices on specific models.

Did the hammerers/norse marauders go for more because they were in blister? Or would the price have been similar if mint loose metal?

I gladly pay more for sealed in blister stuff for a number of reasons. Hammerers and teutogen guard are the most expensive warmaster units I have ever seen personally.  They bring in 200+ in the last 3 weeks on ebay.

Post by: Stormwind on August 12, 2012, 07:52:11 PM
The Phoenix Guard went for only £25, which is strange, as the usual going price for the HE OOP stuff is closer to 40, even loose.

It's all Caveat Empor stuff really, So many things posted all at once got everyone who wanted something interested.  Things seem to go for cheaper if it's just one or two things that lurk about on ebay and can be overlooked.

Still got the norse marauders and teutogen guard for sale.  ;D
Not looking for £200, but want to fund projects so make me an offer.  ;)

Oh I am still interested in them TG.  ;)  Mind you a deer just hit my car so it needs fixing first.  :-\

I am just glad that some people are now out of the bidding for future kislev items.

They r simply not worth that much IMO.

I'm surprised that the Orc Archers went for GBP 84.00!!

Are they even GW?

I missed out on the few items I was really wanting just like the rest of us i.e. Dwarf Hammerers....  way too much $$.

However, I did manage to get the siege mantlets for a decent price (compared to other units/prices).

This is making me wonder if I should put my NIB Phoenix guard blister up and my opened but complete Storm of Magic Character Blister (there are 6 strips in that blister right?) up as well.

I bid for one of the packs of Norse Marauders (NOT the one that went for over £100 I hasten to add!)
The bidding seems a bit, well, random. Phoenix Guard for under £25 yet Hammerers for £250??

E bay can be like that though, I guess it all depends who is 'in town' at the time!

Yeah it's strange!  Mind you, I've seen PG units "hiding" in several job lots of High Elves over the past few months - but I have been on eBay looking for WM since January, and I've not seen any hammerers or Norse marauders.

The same guy who sold these models in-blister was also selling painted armies. Given he didn't seem to know what some of his stuff was (Empire knight types, and the elite halberdiers) I wonder how much rare stuff crept out unnoticed in those army deals?

I sent a message to the seller, after getting my invoice, asking about the Orc Archers.

My message:

No problems at all.

You must be very happy with your Warmaster auctions.... They went for a pretty decent amount!!  I was trying for the Dwarf Hammerers but was well and truly outbid for my limit.

A quick question - the Orc Archers... Are they GW or another company?  The reason I ask is that there is a lot of chatter on the Warmaster website as to their nature.  A lot of die hard Warmaster players have never seen or heard about GW Orc Archers, either limited run or unreleased.

Another favour to ask (if possible) is, can you please take some closer photos of the orc archers and send them to me?  I would greatly appreciate some clearer, close-up pictures.  If it's possible to do so before you send them off to their new owner, could you please send them to this email address:  <email address removed per policy>

Thanks very much for the items I was able to acquire.  I'll let you know when they are safely delivered.

Cheers,

I think shell shocked is the best description for some of the prices.
The Orc Archers are packed to go I'm afraid.  Origin, I'm not certain.  They were in a bag in the box of Warmaster figures which I hadn't opened for 4 or 5 years
They had GW bases but I don't know what they are.

Anyone checking out this auction

http://www.ebay.com/itm/280939032862?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Better yet did anyone from here buy it? Incomplete set of storm of chaos heros for $282.00 US or GBP 180.00 crazy expensive.

Looks like we're hitting some new records here recently.

250 for Hammerers, 180 for incomplete SoC!

If prices keep rising like this, I'll be a millionaire in a few years :)

Then one day GW will get new management and the website is flooded with every OOP mold we can dream of.  Storm of Chaos units cost the same as any bog standard core troop  The angels sing in the clouds and.... and....

Oh wait that was a dream I had. :-<
