BFG has had, over the years, a few lists published in 'official' materials that were never made 'official'. Due to all the talk about the Bakka list again, I figured I'd break out a few of the old apocryphal lists, starting with the Corribra list from Planet Killer (granted with clarifications/changes from the old Corribra website).
Battleships:
Emperor
Retribution
0-1 Nemesis
Battlecruisers
Mars
Jovian
Overlord
Cruisers:
Tyrant
Gothic
Dictator
Lunar
Dominator
Dauntless
Siluria
Escorts:
Firestorm
Sword
Cobra
For those not familiar with the Nemesis fleet carrier, it's a battleship with 12 lbs.

12 pounds of what? Hopefully not launch bays lol ::). Ok j/k but seriously the Nemesis?!? Just when we thought the Jovian was the worst.... 550points and Im sold ;).

You are not TOO far off. it's a 400 point battleship as stands atm. She's a 1 per list beast with the usual +5 armor and 15cm movement (+1ld). Other than Lbs she just has a str 3 dorsal lance. Like the Jovian she's monstrous as a support ship, but in a straight up fight not as effective as, say, a Victory or Apocalypse.

A vessel for people with an attack craft fetish.
I have the scenarios for Corriba somewhere printed and stored iirc. Didn't Nate write them up?
-
The one's in Planet Killer were written by Matt Sprange, IIRC.

My ears are tingling ;D
Funny, I actually have one of these (slowly) getting put together right now.

Welcome to the Club, Mr Zimms.

People need to learn how to play gunnery. ;)
4-6ac per 1500pts is where it's at for Chaos/In ;)
-
Sorry, Horizon, some of us are more fans of the Battle of Midway than the Battle of Tsushima.
-
There is nothing wrong with having fleet lists that have an affinity for attack craft, GW Tau are a great example. I would say that if a reasonable, balanced fleet list can be created that shows a focus towards AC then why not go for it? I do believe it will be more difficult than say bakka since most of the IN is focused towards gun ships.
-
Don't get me wrong, in a Tau fleet I'd midway it all over you ;)
It is just I prefer guns for IN/Chaos.

Honestly, I agree. Gun battles have such interesting tactics compared to AC battles.

If desperate escort fights to screen the carriers and maneuvering to keep away from faster chaos and Eldar ships with your carriers is not interesting, you're doing it wrong.

I know i will win the "necromancy award" with this, but:

So, this thread included, these are the IN lists i know:
- BlueBook + Armada (Gothic Sector, Armageddon Sector, bastion Fleets.....)
- Warprift (Battlefleet Kar Duniash, The Gilded Fleet of Voss, Grand Fleet of Hydraphur)
- Battlefleet Bakka
- Battlefleet Corribra
Are there more out there?
-
wow, I though this was a new thread until I saw the previous posts. yep thread necromancy award for you.....nearly forum necromancy at that
-
I have almost everything bfg-related on 2 hardrives and i found this thread some days ago by accident. I searched for these lists, but i had no luck so far, but maybe someone here remembers something. Worth a try.
I may get some necromancy-related diseases, but hey - its for science.
-
It may be necromancy, but the dead forum we’re raising has always been pretty ace, so I reckon all ahead full :P Personally, I also think it’s sensible to resurrect a thread if the topic is still relevant rather than try to work out the context in a new thread (especially when there aren’t so many people about…).
As for your actual questions, @Lotus, I think your list is pretty fair, and others more learnèd than I could be far more helpful! As sad as it is to direct someone off the forum, have you asked around any of the Facebook groups?
-
I rather see old threads being used again then creating new ones with same info. :)
-
Agreed, but as Op, since a post from 2018 on the front page when I check this in August of 2019 is still a bit disheartening.

As surprising as seeing the Baron pop up after I’ve spent the last week reading the old Flawed Ships/BFG:R threads!
Unfortunately, BaronIveagh, thread necromancy or not, I think the forum’s active user numbers are disheartening to anyone who’s been around here for a while. Facebook is much more where it’s at for our (relatively) small community these days, it seems—but many of the veteran good’uns from the past are irretrievably gone even there, I think.
