Ok, my preferred (and voted) option is the cheap one. I'm ok with the 3 bay option though and also the 110 pt 3 turret version at a pinch with or without the +1 to reload.

OPTION 5
AndrewChristlieb Merge stats:
Cheap, like 100 pts.
2/500
2 Launch
2 Lances or 2 Torpedoes/ Weapons batteries
This one is really neat.
Simple and balanced.

Whats the difference between 5 and 6 other than the restriction and 6 isnt priced?
-
2 lance batteries, i guess

There are way to many options here for a vote.

Maybe for a definitive vote, yes.
Still, with this vote, it would be possible to eliminate some options and maybe have another vote, with 2 or max 3 options. (the more voted in this poll)
-
Ah i see the lance thing. I can live with out the lances. Would option 6 have the 2/500 restriction still then @100 pts?
-
That where my points:
No lances
No restrictions
Points 100 or 110
-
What about 105pts?
-
What about 105pts?
It's in the ballpark. We're looking at 100-110 pts with the low end being really basic and at the high end some possible perks, such as: a-boats, mines, torp-bombers, bonus planetary assault points, turret, or +1 on RO.
There should be no lance option. If the Voss ships could take that then the other two variants would definitely take it. Those ships are fine as they are though.
As for the limit, I'm inclined to include the limit (1/500 or part), particularly at the cheap end. This limit would simply be to prevent spamming of course. You could still have 2 in a 750 pt list and 3 in a 1500 pt list. These are reasonable numbers.
-
Sig, are you favoring option 6 at 100-110 pts?

OPTION 6
Horizon Modded Andrewchristlieb Merge version:
6 hits, 20cm speed, 90* turns, 1 shield, 6+/5+ armor, 2 turrets
1 Launch bay per side, 2 Prow Weapon Batteries @30cm F/L/R, 2 prow torpedoes
points value? I think 100 is too cheap....... 105, 110 maybe?
-
Sig, are you favoring option 6 at 100-110 pts?
Yes.
-
I favor Option 6 at 105pts.
-
I favor Option 6 at 105pts.
me too.....

It looks like options six and seven are our clear run off candidates.
-
With a notion that option six was based on option 5. So: option 5 voters: would you either pick option 6 or 7?

Horizon, in interest of fairness, we can't actually prove that anyone cast a particular vote (AFAIK).
-
Ive already switched mine from 5 to 6 but I do think it needs one of the minor tweeks mentioned to be worth more than 100pts and it should retain the current 2/500 restriction.
-
Too late for me to vote, but I prefer option 6 at 105pts, the three launch bay option is interesting and would be my second choice.
-
Alright, 6 and 7 are the winners here. I would like to put up a vote between the two. I was thinking option 6 at 105pts with no restriction except the already existing Endeavor, Endurance, and Defiant restriction. Option 7, what restrictions? How should it look in the vote?
-
*Shrug*
How about 3 per 1k?
-
Given the price difference there I would leave them both with the same restriction.
-
Given the price difference there I would leave them both with the same restriction.
You mean, both should have the 1 endurance or defiant per endeavor restriction?
-
No I thought that we had gone to the 2/500 restriction for Endurance/Defiants.
-
No I thought that we had gone to the 2/500 restriction for Endurance/Defiants.
Can you tell me how that is an effectual limit? Even if we made the Defiant dirt cheap in a 750 pt list you could spend 400 pts on Defiants (53%). I mean, if you only bought 3 Defiants and an Emperor you get 14 AC for 665 pts. If there was no limit on Defiants at all you could buy 7, getting 14 AC for 700 pts ... So, what's the point of that limit again?
It doesn't stop you from maxing out launch bays in a beardy fashion and in larger games there simply is no point in spamming nothing but Defiants anyway. Unless you mean 2 per full 500 pts, in which case you may as well say 1/500 pts or part, as that's a slightly better progression and more meaningful restriction (1 at 500, 2 at 750, 2 at 1000, 3 at 1250 vs 2 at 500, 2 at 750, 4 at 1000, 4 at 1250).
-
Umm thats what the limit is right now... :D If it needs to be tweaked then lets do it, 1/500?
-
Whatever happens, don't bring obligatory endeavor rule back - Having to take one ship specifically in order to be able to take another is rarely a good idea, as it forces too much of a fleet composition on the player.
1/500 wouldn't be so bad, though, if we're really afraid of AC spaming. That would mean Endeavor has no restriction, Endurance 2/500, Defiant 1/500. Seems like a fair progression.
