As I already mentioned somewhere else, I've "discovered" Warmaster as my favorite GW game after 16 years of "playing" Warhammer. Actually it was much more modeling, than playing because I was desperetely tired of the herohammer stuff and balance issues. But most of all it was too obvious, that commercial principles are way more important than the spirit of the game.
Alas two months after my first WM game that got me into it seriously, GW decided to close the SG altogether. Whatever.. I've learned how to help myself so I'm not gining up :-)
So here are my first units of Toomb Kings. So many thanx to Vincent and his creativity, as he and his TK are great inspiration to me. Most of all the shields, that give the army much more toomb-kingish :-) look.

-
Great start, look forward to seeing more updates!
-
Good job with the shields! :)
Keep the army growing...
-
Wow! Great!
Yes, Vincent's army is intimidatingly good - the effort on the shields makes a HUGE difference.
Don't despair, as Khemri Undead are one of the most common armies along with High Elves, shouldn't be too awful to get more on ebay or here if you are patient. =)
-
Great display of colours! your army have visual strenght. good job
-
Magnificent! Keep em coming!
Dave
-
The army is really nice, especially the tombking style! May I ask how long/difficult it was to convert the shields?
-
Excellent work!
-
That's a great looking army. The shields and colours make such a big difference.
-
Thanx all for comments. Here goes an update. There is still one unit of archers with original shields to fill the numbers, but they are going to be replaced soon. I'm not very good at details so I better take pictures of my army only as a whole.
-
It all looks good to me - easily "tabletop standard", and then some. =)
-

You are welcome :)
You army is nice and easily taple top +.
Keep going, you will have a beautiful army!
-
I don't want to make new thread so I put it here. One of my projects I want to start after the TK are done is a Middenheim army with Teutogen guards and White wolf knights taking large part in it. As I looked throug the empire stuff I have colected from different sources in past months I was quite shocked to find Middenheim hero on horse, that I wasn't even aware of it's existence (this one http://i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu205/jchaos79/Empire%20WM/flagelantedelloboblanco.jpg). Where does this figure come from? Is it part of empire characters blister or some other? Thanx.
-
Yes, it's part of the standard character pack.
-
yes, it is from the regular pack. The paint is great, isn't it? ;)
more figures from the character pack here

There's not much of painting, but I'm happy I raised another brigade of skeletons who are ready to join their Toomb king soon.
It has always seemed to me kinda weird, that main troops (skeletons, halberdiers etc.) have the same attack value as missile troops but there are often more than twice as many figures as on their bases. So I tried to put five files of archers per base and I must say I'm really impressed by it's look.
To put more flavour in it, I made one base with command group (easily made by using some spare bits - I was inspired by some unreleased empire model).

-
At last my new TK units. I really like bowmen in five files per base and with "command".
-
Nice work! They look suitably ominous!
-
I like them! I love the blues, especially!
-
Very nice. Deep Egyptian Blues. You're right - the archers look great in denser formations with command.
I'm taking notes for when I eventually get round to painting mine!
Dave
-
Thanx guys.
My army is getting slowly to finals... here are just few of the units done recently.
-
looks absolutely amazing!
-
Stunning bone giant conversion! Is that cork bark on the bases?
-
Stunning bone giant conversion! Is that cork bark on the bases?
yes, kind of - it's made of cork plugs :-)
-
Some two units left to do 8)
-
Great conversion for bone giant. And also beauty army. Well done
-
Kick-ass army! It's also amazing how fast it grows.
-
I have finally got to some painting after quite a while... here it goes. For Middenheim!
-
More great work as usual! I really need to get my armies painted!
-
Very nice painting !
-
Good work on your bases! Nice! ^^ I like your use of colour too, very similar to my own. :)
-
Thanx for comments.
One more not-so-good picture of my slowly growing forces
(http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/1285/616q.jpg)
-
Holy wow that's beautiful!
What did you use for the snow?
Really lovely work on the Teutogen Guard's cloaks.
-
Thanx Stormwind.
If I was searching right, it's sodium bicarbonate in English. Commonly used for cooking :-)
-
I have found another alternative works well too...... pepermint dust......
-
Thanx Stormwind.
If I was searching right, it's sodium bicarbonate in English. Commonly used for cooking :-)
I.e. "baking soda". Though many packs of baking soda also contain acid so better stick with the pure stuff I guess?
-
I.e. "baking soda". Though many packs of baking soda also contain acid so better stick with the pure stuff I guess?
I've been using the packs for baking and never had any problem so far.
-
Just figured from a long time perspective. The acid needs moist to do damage though, so sealing with varnish will slow the process by blocking airborne moist. I have no idea of the time scales or the effect on acrylics though. May be decades, may be centuries? Probably nothing to worry about.
-
Stunning i love your basing a lot everything looks really nice and very well put together.
-
Really nice stuff!
-
Very nice painting and lovely basing!
I suppose the advantage of using peppermint dust would be that you could always fall back to licking/eating your bases if rations run short during a game! :)
Dave
-
This is probably the final version of my TK army... the last thing to be done is a hero on dragon...
The two infantry units in the front are for the raise dead spell.
And here are some more stuff for my Middenheim army
(http://imageshack.us/a/img513/3258/3vt8.jpg)
-
Your army looks awesome!
Now you just need a scorpion ;)
-
Great army shot! Nice to see another finished army especially with all these conversions.
-
Absolutely love your converted TK
-
Thanx guys for comments :)
Now you just need a scorpion ;)
Well I cannot agree more, but it's kind of pricey luxury these days... :D
-
A unit of crossbowmen and two skirmisher stands done
(http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/8939/g63b.jpg)
-
Nice work, as always! How many points of things do you have, now?
-
Nice work, as always! How many points of things do you have, now?
Thanx Stormwind. Actually it's not that much... it's some 2500 of Toomb Kings and 1000 points of Empire so far. But I cannot say whether I will ever do more Empire units, as now I'm seriously tempted to paint some Daemons :-)
-
For some time I wanted to paint some Kislev units, so I just painted one. For now I'm gonna use this unit as an allied proxy for my Empire crossbowmen, but maybe in distant future I'm gonna start whole army..
-
I like the varied but muted colours of their coats. A good idea to add some command figures in to break up the archers.
-
Very nice!
-
They look really good! I like the snow bases.
-
Thanx!
More stuff.. .Middenheim is slowly getting "into the shape" :-)
-
Oh wow, White Knights! Very nice. =)
-
Really well done , especially attention to the bases as well .
which figure did you use for your bone giant , looks absalutely stunning .
love the shields as well for undead army .
Stuart
-
I will add my voi9ce to the throng of accolades!
Lovely painting and the basing makes them special.
Good to see some White Wolf Knights knocking about :)
Dave
-
Great stuff Aldhick!
Is the standard a conversion?
-
Is the standard a conversion?
Thanx. What standard do you mean? However niether of them are conversions. The standards in the missile units are cut out of the infantry strips.
-
Nice. Really like the winter theme which seems to go well with the Knights in particular.
-
Hey guys,
so here it comes... my first attempt to sculpt in this insane scale ;D - but it's just a small adjustments to existing minis.
As I plan to make all Nurgle army, I tried to convert some Nurgle cavalry taking old WH nurglings and puting some plaguebearers on their back. It's two-part model, so it's gonna be possible to combine the mounts and riders.
-
That's a good idea. How big are they compared to the Beasts of Nurgle?
-
Ha ha, bonkers!
Looking good so far!
-
Very nice indeed .
Stuart
-
Good stuffs!
-
Very nice conversions!!
Any chance of getting them produce in greater numbers? Bel may know how to do it well??
-
Thanx for comments guys.
Geep: they are distinctly smaller, but still big enough to work as a mount
Big Red: They may very well be. Any further conversation on this subject via PM please.
-
Very good idea and idea very well put in production. Excellent result !
-
Some more minor conversion adjustements:
DoW pikemen
(https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1220x435q90/802/94tg.jpg)
Priest of Ulric
(https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/752x374q90/850/2wwz.jpg)
-
Oh very nice! I love little conversions like that.
-
Yes, very nice job !
-
Where do you buy your spears from?
-
Thanx :-)
Where do you buy your spears from?
Do you mean the pikes? It's simply a wire with some modeling stuff on the top sanded to the shape :-)
-
Really cool , like the changes .
stuart
-
Ah! You ask as the Old Glory models don't come with pikes. I think you have to buy them - very small 1mm copper rod ones?
-
Excellent work! Congrats, I really like the pikemen :)
-
Thanx.
Stormwind: need to check how thick the wire is
My first attempt to sculpt whole 10mm mini.. my version of Hag Queen for my Couldron of Blood conversion. Comming soon :-)
-
no niples?
-
That's amazing work, Aldhick!
-
I agree with Lex, where are the pupils in her eyes? :)
Amazing work!
Dave
-
That is really awesome, such talent.
Congrat Aldhick!
-
Oh wow, really looking forward to this one!
-
Wow , hats off to you sir . Incredable work .
Stuart
-
Brilliant! Keep us updated with the progress...
-
Thanx guys for comments. There is still plenty of room for improvement but I'm enjoying it :-) Before I started I had never thought I was even able to sculpt anything so tiny, but in fact it's not as difficult as it looks like.
-
Hey guys. These are my latest conversions - Cauldron of Blood and Greater Daemon of Nurgle
(http://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w566/Annariell/P3281093_zps7396e6e0.jpg)
-
Oh wow! Nice work!
-
Yes, wonderfull model !
-
Looking good, great ideas!
-
Very nice stuff. I really like the Cauldron.
-
Really cool stuff .
Stuart
-
Thanx guys.
Some more recent stuff. Not really happy about the wolf head on the banner, but didn't have enough energy to redo it.. maybe later on
(http://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w566/Annariell/Lancers1_zps624c9785.jpg)
-
Love the snow, everything looks amazing man well done!
-
I love the panther knights. I have very frequently seen them with strange colors, like if painters could not decide how to paint furr. i recognise here the classical aspect of the old Warhammer Fantasy RPG (and love it).
-
Really nice units, well done
-
Gorgeous! The Panther Knights really stand out.
Dave
-
Very well done indeed . Stunning painting , bases enhancing the over all effect .
Stuart
-
Lovely work!
-
Nice. And I think the snow fits well with the white wolf theming.
-
Thanx guys for comments.
After some while I managed to come up with some new stuff including my Kislev wound markers conversions. I might have some spare in close future, if anybody is interested

-
Excellent casualty markers ! I may be interested by several of each.
And your scenery elements are great too.
Troops are nicely painted. Especially the war wagon. I'm not that fond of the red, a little bit pink on the picture, but maybe it's a camera effect.
-
Beautiful work as always!
-
By the way, how do you make your snow ?
-
Thanx,
I have already mentioned it somewhere here - it's plain baking soda you can buy in every grocery :-) I just spread it on a base (with painted sand already on) covered with diluted glue.
-
Your armies look amazing, i love how your scenery base's look too!
-
I have found myself some short time at last to work on some of WM stuff again so here I share the outcome.
Brettonia and Dark Elf wound markers

-
I have seen most of these miniatures on my own eyes already :) The dragon is terrific :o
-
Sliced up Brets and Dark Elves? :'( :P
Very nice painting
-
Great stuff! I have thought about how I wish I could have confusion/wound markers for specific armies.
-
Thumps up! nicely done
-
Nice casualties markers !
-
Good work!
Kislev troops are superb
-
Hey guys, after a while I was able to work on some new stuff:
Truthsayer and Fen beast aka Kislev shaman and yozhin
(http://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w566/Annariell/P3043183_zpsetknwabi.jpg)
I also tried to make myself some themed battle mats using sheet and acrylic silicone. I'm more than happy with the result.
-
Great work! What size base is the Tsarina on?
LOVE the tattoo painting on the soothsayer.
-
Thanx Stormwind.. coud be around 4 cm in diameter. I messure the distance from her figure.
-
great mats! once painted armies, a good battleground makes a difference in wargame expirience.
Snow effect is also superb.
-
Really like what you've done and battle mats .
Really cool .
Stuart
-
Truthsayer and Fenbeast = awesome!
-
My 3 thousands cents:

-
So impressive! The desert mat looks awesome.
-
Ahhh these are great! Fabulous work!
Where is that scenery from?
-
That looks great! I admire the effort those shields must have taken.
-
That is brilliant ! Aldhick
-
Thanx guys.
Stormwind: It's Hirstart egyptian stuff
-
Mat = awesome. Really effective. Nice minis too. Did you seriously paint tribal tattoos on a 10mm mini? :D
-
Yeah, Aldhick is a great painter!
-
Yeah, Aldhick is a great painter!
Far from it ;D My focus is always on time/look efficiency as my time for painting and modelling is very scarce (some of you know why).
In the same spirit is my most recent creation. Was anxious to try out siege one day, so I made myself a little low-time-cost fortress.
Saying that I'd like also to add that if any of you have any redundant siege stuff, I'm after it :D
(http://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w566/Annariell/Wargaming/Armies%20and%20Models/Modelling%20and%20Painting/P3080530_zpss16accdb.jpg)

-
looking great!
how long has it taken you to reach this point?
-
Bloody impressive =)
-
Stroke of genius to paint all the skeleton warriors with blue shields to make them look Khemri!
Very impressed by both the tattoos and the castle!
Thanks for sharing
Dave
-
Thanx guys. It took me some 6 evenings, about two hours each including creating stamp with the wall texture
-
Did you make the stamp out of Green Stuff?
-
I made it of plaster. I can't see how you could imprint the texture into the polystyrene with anything softer than hard.
-
Slowly getting closer to my first siege battle...
-
Good job all around!
-
oh man, this is pretty sweet. Very nice aldhick!
-
Gorgeous stuff! What is that material you've used to cover the siege equipment with? Cloth?
-
Great stuff Aldhick !
-
Yeah, really nice ! Good game to you !
-
Thanx guys for comments.
Gorgeous stuff! What is that material you've used to cover the siege equipment with? Cloth?
It's just simple paper :)
-
looking great!
-
What an awesome mass of troops and seige equipment. I also love a sneeky peak at people's workspace, check out the blade so close to the mouse!
Seriously though, beautiful stuff and the paper(!) on those seige engines is as effective as it is simple.
-
Did some sculpting and converting after a while.
This is gonna be a battering ram once turned into metal
(http://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w566/Annariell/Wargaming/Armies%20and%20Models/Modelling%20and%20Painting/P1030993_zpskk7nujnq.jpg)
-
Nice!
-
Looks really good.
-
Yep, nice. More modern that the GW one with the plates on top. But nice.
-
This kind of thing makes you ball up your fists and go EEEEEEEK!
Wonderful stuff, it all looks great but for some reason I'm drawn to those wheels, really nice....... I hate trying to make wheels.
-
That's going to be an awesome battering ram.
Tell us more about the infantry - are they crew or part of a pike unit or something else?
-
Thanx for comments guys.
The minis are just my conversions of pikemen based ond empire halberdiers. I wanted to make them more tilea-like making them with morrion helmets, bare headed or with those flat caps you can see on Warhammer DoW miniatures.
-
The siege stuff came out quite fine in the end. The sow could be bit smaller perhaps... One learns during the process
(http://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w566/Annariell/Wargaming/Armies%20and%20Models/Modelling%20and%20Painting/P2101793_zpsyty06pbh.jpg)
-
Beautiful work as always <3
-
Oh wow, those look wonderful all cast up and assembled. Well done!
-
Thanx guys...
here you can see it in color :-)

plus gorgeous Polar Forx "zombie dragon"

-
Oh wow! Great seeing one of these "in the wild".
-
That is a eye candy!
-
Thanx guys.
Another wonderful Polar fox mini - Khalida queen

Few months ago, one of my Warmaster dreams has come true.
Last slot in my TK army filled. And it's massive!

-
Very nice. Love the green bits!
-
I love the hapless bloke being crushed in the claw there. =P
-
Really nice. Could we have a general picture of the whole army ?
-
Thanx guys.
Marell, it's on the previous pages here:

Oh yes, sorry i had not checked. Sweeet ! And the scorpion addition will fit the rest very well !
-
I love the bone colour on that Scorpion, and I am very impressed by ypur battering rams. They look stunning painted.
