Hey I'm Gothmog, really spend my time on the BFG boards BUT I recently created an SG wiki to link to and store all collected SG resources, sites, rules and articles in one place. It is suppossed to just give a cursory glance at the fluff and playstyles of different games and really be a place to go for all your resources
http://specialist-games.wikia.com/wiki/Warmaster (http://specialist-games.wikia.com/wiki/Warmaster)
Please, help and contribute!

There is already the excellent wiki from the collecting citadel group. They are listing Epic, warmaster (not everything yet) and all that... Why creating a second place ? We should regroup everything, as you say.

Didn't know about that. Link?
If it is achieving the same thing, then the SG one I made can be abanddoned and just build up that one.

Just looked it up. Isn't that one just about minis and finding old minis? This is for the preservation and centralization of rules and game resources.
-
Yeah I think we're looking for something a little more comprehensive, rather than being targeted at minis collectors. Especially since the minis are all going OOP, preserving the rules, tactics, etc will be important.
-
Warmuster then.... at least for WM.
which will be integrated into the SG site over this summer.....
-
Lex, while we're at it, any word on the LRB link?
-
Somebody should have that handy to relink ?

I agree, it lacks visibility, but we are working on it. I propose we work together.
Some SG games are already on the CCM Wiki.
Warmaster dark elves : http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Dark_Elf_%28Warmaster%29_-_Collectors_Guide
Collectors guide for Epic (by edition) : http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Epic_%281st_Edition%29_-_Collectors_Guide
Or by race (here squats) : http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Epic_%282nd_Edition%29_-_Collectors_Guide
Or limited editions etc : http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Battlefleet_Gothic_-_Limited_Release
t's true this catalogue is used by collectors probably more than players, but really, i don't see the point in re taking all those pictures to put them elsewhere. Let's work together.
I personnaly took several warmaster pictures availbale on the french forum. We have begun to put them on the Wiki too, by army list, but i did not had much time those last weeks to continue.

Looking over CCM, my main concern is that at this point, other than the pictures of the unopened blister packs and the Character blister on the Dark Elves page, all the other Warmaster pages are empty. Second, that getting a login to permit contributing to the wiki requires membership on the email list. Third, that it's focused exclusively on collecting the minis themselves, rather than playing the game.
But with that said, I'm very much open to linking to CCM pages for the "catalog" information on minis rather than duplicating effort. And obviously the french forum links (along with our own catalog by jchaos and others on this site) are fantastic. So assuming the CCM site covers everything, we can emphasize game play and non-mini-gallery aspects of the game. Working together on this sounds like the way to go.

I have asked on the mailing list yesterday about SG, vefore reading this forum again, and here is the feedback :
The wiki already has a Mordheim section, a Necromunda section and an Inquisitor 54mm section, all in the Collectors Guides, all of which are pretty much complete.
There are parts of Epic, Bloodbowl and Warmaster already there so it seems BFG is the only range on which at least a start has not been made
It is relatively straight forward to create sections for each of the Specialist Games and requires only two main things for each range:
First a listing of all the models in some form of logical order - by release date, catalogue in which they appeared, by type of force etc etc - whichever order is most appropriate
Secondly photos of the models, preferably both painted and in their components but in whatever form is available to start with.
The actual coding is easy and doesn't take that long - I worked with Paul to do the LOTR Collectors guide and I think all up the coding only took about 10 or 12 hours
Loading the photos is easy too if a little time consuming but if you label all the image files consistently with the code, there is a way to upload all the photos in bulk.
If someone wants to give me a list of all the models for a range, I'll happily get the code done, then its just a matter of uploading the pics
So there is still a heavy job to do, but i think the structure is here, and even a little part of the job. I know there are unpublished pages we where currently working on (warmaster empire for example).
I think to obtain a login to acess the wiki should not be a problem. I will ask, but i am confident.
The main goal is to work together, yes. And make the wiki evolve. The collector aspect should change to became open to everyone. We had suggestions in this way already. They where welcomed most of the time. For my part, i think the wiki could be readable easily than it is today. But we can't change everything in one day. For now, i'm attached to working on the warmaster range to put everything on line.

That's fine. I think this is a good plan. Let me know if there's anything I can do, but between you copying photos over to the CCM wiki, and the wikia team doing gaming pages, we should have the whole thing covered. Once the CCM galleries are up, we can change the wikia site to link the catalog pages to CCM.

Drop me a mail at marell_le_fou at yahoo dot fr or add me in any Mailing List you have already and we should be able to work in parallel efficiently.

Warmaster portal done. Slots for pictures are not all presents yet. Check the Kislev page to see an exemple.
One page per army for now. And one for siege, etc.
Maybe we will have to add some special pages for Emperor Dragon, Storm of Chaos, etc.

We are progressing in the pages architecture. Pictures are following.

The wiki looks really nice. It's cool to see all the close ups of the models (eg., I didn't know how the Dark Elves chars actually look like without paint on them).
What do you think about adding nicely painted miniatures to the wiki as examples of how the figures might look like when they are painted? Eg., a picture of unpainted knights of the blazing sun and next to it a picture of the kights painted by docdom. If you, for the most part, use pictures by the same painter, it would imho look really awesome.
-
As the wiki is actually set, you can add as many picture as you want.
I think to keep the unpainted one as reference is a goodt idea, but adding well painted pictures would be awesome. Go ! Go ! Go !
