Title: First Imperial Fleet
Post by: Nex on May 23, 2013, 06:12:28 PM
Well I've just spent a while picking through what I got off ebay in "the rush". As a Chaos player I'm not really that well versed in Imperial ships though I do know that for some unknown reason I dislike Nova Cannons.

What I've got:
2 Retribution Battleships

1 Overlord Battlecruiser
1 Tyrant Cruiser
1 Gothic Cruiser
2 Dictator Cruisers
1 Lunar Cruiser
6 Dauntless Light Cruisers (4lance 2torp)

12 Firestorm lance Frigates
3 Sword Frigates
24 Cobras

There are quite a few spare parts from the looks of things so I may be able to tinker with the 6 cruisers load outs a bit. Using the rulebook ship stats all these ships plus an Admiral and one reroll is exactly 4000pts, not added it up with BFG:R yet.

Hey,
Nice selection of ships. Try to rebuild the second Retribution into  another class for some variety.

That's a good, fast moving fleet for IN! And a truly scary amount of cobras...

I'd turn one of the Rets into an Emperor. I'd also turn the Tyrant into another Lunar, but that's me ;) Just experiment and find what works for you.

Nice.

I second converting one of the Rets to an Emperor. It maybe a little difficult to switch the cruisers if they are already built and glued together.

Remember, you can run the Cobras as Vipers. And the Tyrant as a Dominator if you can swap between ram and Nova Cannon (I know you don't like them, but using one every so often may be usefull)
