I just noticed that a few models have popped back up in the GW online store, at least for Necrons, Eldar and Tau.
Might be of interest to some people?
-
Not in the us store...
Though nothing new has disappeared in over a week.
-
Probably just a re-deployment of stock from elsewhere.
-
Revenant Titans disappeared from the Australian store whilst I was uhming and ahing about paying £50 for them >.>

Grimdarkbits on shapeways has a Warhound alternative, no reason more types won't become available in the future :)

Gw lawyers when they discover the site
-
hopefully they won't discover it for a while
i've noticed that stuff has stopped disappearing, maybe the molds of whats left are pretty new, so GW have decided to use 'em till they drop dead

See the new chapter house ruling.... If gw doesn't make it any more it is fair game

Chapter House was making compatible bits and didn't win every item (only 2/3rds of what was ckaimed)
Grim Dark bits is clearly making epic armageddon. His bfg stuff should be safe

Not really. GW copyright items still belong to GW. No-one can make a GW design and sell it.
CHS relates to new and original designs, which can be used with GW miniatures, but where the designs are not GW property.

basically no one screw it up by telling GW

I Doubt anyone important at GW still knows or cares about this site.

Darth Vader?
-
i think vader would be enraged with games workshop over this
how else is he going to test new ways of crushing the rebels without space combat board games
-
That new xwing game
-
thats just a few fighters isn't it?
not full on fleets

Yeah I kicked around the idea of repainting the old star wars miniatures starship battles line for use in BFG. Seemed a little odd to me that didn't do better; If anything deserves a fleet action game you think Star Wars would be it.
-
there are star wars ships models avalible in the US
i make do with empire at war......so satisfiying when you destroy a capital ship and it breaks up

that would be applicable say for Aeronautica Imperialis. BFG, not so much. I want my Star Destroyers, damnit! :)
-
Anyone here played X-wing? Looks card-heavy from looking pictures, not something I like messing with. reminds me too much of 2nd ed 40k...

Got to love it. In SW they're massive battleships and symbols of Imperial power. In BFG...barely a frigate! ;D

I like when people point out to me that the Super Star Destroyer is bigger. I then ask them to point to the guns on the Super Star Destroyer. They can't. I then point out how I clearly see all the main batteries on the BFG ships, how they are intended for ranges in the thousans of kilometers, vice the hundreds of meters you see in SW. For the cherry on top I explain that a single torpedo is 30m. That is twice as tall as an AT-AT, let alone size comparison to an X-Wing or TIE Fighter.
-
well if it came to a BFG vs star wars imperial fleet, it would be one sided
the star destroyers may be smaller and possibly more manouverble than a retribution, but it would only have to hit once to really ruin the star destroyers day
-
i can't for the life of me remeber where i found the site but i've got a feeling it was through a link somewhere on here or another forum, but i can't remeber
but there was a site in the US selling resin star wars ships of all sorts and they seemed to be on a BFG type scale

Apologies in advance for the off-topic, but...
connahr, Jimmy Zimms:
If you look at "Rough War (of the Ring)", that blogger played a number of BFG games using Star Wars miniatures.
For some of the battle reports (in which you can see the fleets), see: here (http://roughwotr.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/bfg-starwars-chiss-campaign-battle-of.html) and here (http://roughwotr.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/bfg-starwars-chiss-campaign-battle-of_11.html). Those are just 2 out of many.
As for the miniatures themselves, this page (http://roughwotr.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/bfg-star-wars-progress.html), this page (http://roughwotr.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/next-project-battlefleet-gothic-bfg.html) and this page (http://roughwotr.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/bfg-starwars-sorted.html) shows the blogger looking through the various miniatures available. One of the sites he links to (Studio Bergstrom (http://studiobergstrom.com/index.php?categoryID=83)) does not sell Star Wars stuff. Absolutely not. It sells a range of products including the "Scythe Empire" resin "Inquisitor Heavy Star Cruiser" (which just so happens to be identical to Supers) and "Demolisher Light Destroyers", which just so happen to be identical to Marauders ::) The difference in name probably made it hard to find on the internet unless you knew what you were looking for.
-
Ahh nice! I am familiar with the Not BSG line they have but never noticed the Not ISDs! :)
-
i like that site, love the names
anyway back on topic
Space marine strike cruisers and chaos despoiler battleships have returned, although theres no add to order button for them
either theres a very spiteful website editor, or they may be about to come back

Being a frigate doesn't mean you can't be a symbol of power. Symbols of power of the British Empire were frigates and gunboats :)

Stuff reappears that way from time to time, only to disappear later: what I think happens is that they get stock (either shipped from elsewhere or new cast) to fill existing orders, they're put into database which automatically adds them to website, but since there is no stock, they can't be ordered anymore and eventually they are removed again.

I took several OLD Star Wars Micro Machines, added some BFG bits and a paint job, and use them as Light Cruisers with homebrew stats. I figured some Rogue Trader had them custom built for convoy protection.
