Hail, friends. I have the beginnings of a small space marine fleet but didn't manage to get my paws on any strike cruisers prior to them falling from the Games Workshop website - much to my disappointment. Gothmog casually suggested I replace the prow with a plasticard conversion - apparently that's something he can knock together before lunch time ;) I, however, having never worked with plasticard before looked at the project with some trepidation. Nevertheless, challenge accepted, sir. Pictured below is the result of a couple of evening's work - and I still have all my fingers! ;D

Hell, you say that's your first time working with platicard? Wow well done
-
the prow looks just like the models
looking at this i think i prefer it to the GW strike cruisers, i was never really a fan of the model

We have the same idea ...
Nice work ...

Very nice job!
Great idea as well.

Fine conversion :)

Thanks, guys. I have since ordered a couple more dauntless class ships and will convert them too. I might have a crack at making an inquisition ship whilst i'm at it.
-
Really good work, man. That is an awesome plasticard job and an awesome conversion.
-
very very nice I like the clean line work om the fines

Good work!

Nice job man! Really well done! So erm...which Chapter are you gonna be playing?
-
Apologies for the late reply - I've been away for a while.
As for the chapter, I've sort of being toying with writing the fluff for a chapter of my own meager design chops. Kind of settled on the name of "The Iron Talismans" and the thought that I had going through my mind was that they were reduced to a shadow of their former selves after a derelict chaos cruiser was sent on a collision course with their homeworld whilst the majority of the fleet was engaged elsewhere. Not exactly original, I know, but one does what one can ;D
They conduct their quest for vengeance out of the sole remaining fortress monastery that has a handful of strike cruisers, attendant escorts and Fleet masters' battlebarge. That kind of explains why the fleet cannot expand further, which works in nicely with Games Workshop no longer supplying us with kit...
