Hey everyone,
Just recently I found two players to play Warmaster with, it has been a long time.. I started when the game first game out, dark elves back then. I unfortunately sold that army, the same goes for my Empire army I had built from Pendraken Miniatures.
Still left are my ol' trusty Orcs, with whom I shall be smashing some skulls in the near future. I'm working hard to get a gaming board finished. Three boards are texture painted to give me a 195 x 122 cm area to game on. I have some ruins, some forests and a hill or two now.
Just today I ordered a dozen buildings from http://www.levenminiatures.co.uk/medieval.htm, it's 6mm, but should work well enough for WM.
Picture time, here are my orcs. Should be enough I think? I have some stuff in the lead lying around still, maybe 6/7 more units.

And for old time's sake, some pictures of my Dark Elf army, I really regret selling them, it's impossible to collect a new one I fear. Ah well.

And the Empire army I had, I don't miss them, but it's a great army to introduce new players with.

If there are any players from the Netherlands around, I'd be very happy to meet up and have a game or two!
I've seen Lex lurking around here, We've met a few times years back. :)

Hey Tizgane,
you live like 300 km away from me .... (which, at least in the context of warmaster, is not that far away).
-
and in Bergen op Zoom you could meet halfway (well kinda 8) )
-
Those look stunning!

Really nice armies, it is a pleasure seeing those large armies so well painted. Empire army looks great with pendraken figures!
Trolls are very funny, based like in a schiltron formation ! :D

Lovely painting! I think this reflects my experience too. When it comes to 6mm/10mm armies NEVER sell them. They're not worth that much anyway, they don't take up much storage space and you always regret selling them a few years down the line when that particular period/scale wargaming bug catches you again!
You don't miss the Empire? I think they're very nice.

I have an Empire army and living in the Hague so very nearby. I don't have a table myself but can come over to play some warmaster games. I played a few games when warmaster first came out but haven't played since. Beginning this year I dug my army out of retirement and looking to play some games.

Thanks for the replies!
Yeah, selling and regret... I take a bitter comfort in the fact that I've know worse regrets (selling my Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying books, 1st en 2nd edition.. I still have them in PDF format but.,.. I had the real deal,... )
Alexander, I'll contact you! Awesome! Den Haag is quite close, and my table is getting closer and closer to completion!

Strange how things have different values to different people, I gave Dave W my WHFRP 1st ed book a couple of years ago when I was having a tidy out. I'd not opened it for 20+ years and certainly wasn't about to start playing it.
But 10mm figures - they don't get sold often.

Great looking armies. How many points are those?
-
My orc army is around 3000 points, the other armies around 2000. :)
-
Thanks for the info :)
Been collecting Chaos for a while, but I have a bit to go before I reach 3000 points..
I've only bought figures on Ebay, and this is what I've gathered so far:

Started with a unit of Knights and discovered they were pretty fun to paint so I continued :)

Looks suitably dark. My own Chaos army should be in the mail now. It will complete the collection with one of each army from the original book.
-
Wow... Do you paint all your armies like that ? Liking a unit and hop, everything is painted ? My armies are very fun do you know ?
And by the way, i have some chaos unit if you need them. I don't play this army.
-
Ooh, those look nice indeed! :D

Hehe..yeah..sort of. But I think it's because the miniatures look so great with a lot of character despite being so small.
I'm always looking for more units so I'm interested. What have you got?

Thanks! I always get problems with the camera focus when I take photos of several miniatures at once. The shots of your armies seem very crisp and nice. Maybe you have any tips for taking better pictures? :)
-
Being a photographer and having some gear lying around helps. ;)
Though it's actually quite easy:
Use a tripod
Use a camera with manual aperture settings
Use a good background
Make sure the light is coming from sideways, or 45 degrees to the front/side
Use a reflector (white foamboard works perfectly for it, paper won't as it will reflect mostly blue light)
-
I'll try and use those tips at my next photo session. See ya all at 2000 points ;)
-
Cool. :) Good luck! :D
