Title: Where are drop pods launched from?
Post by: Malika on September 10, 2013, 10:10:44 PM
So I'm delving into the BFG books again and I notice the lack of drop pods in the rules. Which makes me wonder, from what part of the ship are drop pods launched from? The torpedo tubes? Launch bays?

Have seen illustrations showing pods launched from the bottom of the ships, which makes the most sense...

Can these drop pod launch bays also be seen on the models?

I dont believe so, its been a while since I took a good look at a Strike cruier or Barge tho so maybe... The pods are represented by a ships ability when assaulting a planet, one of the reasons SM get more assault points than others.

On the Tau Protector from Forgeworld the bays for shuttles and Orca dropships are modelled: it are the ones alongside the front of the wings.
(The kaal bay is for Manta's).
