Title: Skaven Strip Variant Identification: A Case Study on an Anal Retentive Gamer
Post by: Dave on November 27, 2013, 11:56:38 PM
For my own edification/knowledge/peace of mind, can anyone with an extensive collection of Skaven confirm these are ALL the strip variants for each unit?

Gutter Runners (3 strips of two pairs each)
(https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SeGO04HBCc8/UpaFWUrL9lI/AAAAAAAAOF0/eiP9EtYXfNY/s640/IMG_0001.JPG) (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SeGO04HBCc8/UpaFWUrL9lI/AAAAAAAAOF0/eiP9EtYXfNY/s1600/IMG_0001.JPG)

Plague Monks (4 strips of three pairs each)
(https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1yLd2jRnZxc/UpaFXsGmMFI/AAAAAAAAOF8/VKNFDIQBSF8/s640/IMG_0002.JPG) (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1yLd2jRnZxc/UpaFXsGmMFI/AAAAAAAAOF8/VKNFDIQBSF8/s1600/IMG_0002.JPG)

Jezzails (6 pairs)
(https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-XBiuTyHmOWE/UpaFYtlN3VI/AAAAAAAAOGE/IlD4a5PRKlI/s640/IMG_0003.JPG) (https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-XBiuTyHmOWE/UpaFYtlN3VI/AAAAAAAAOGE/IlD4a5PRKlI/s1600/IMG_0003.JPG)

Clanrats (5 strips of 3 pairs each)
(https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-pwrqDegPPnw/UpaFZqWQBhI/AAAAAAAAOGM/OFbSa7tEuGk/s640/IMG_0004.JPG) (https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-pwrqDegPPnw/UpaFZqWQBhI/AAAAAAAAOGM/OFbSa7tEuGk/s1600/IMG_0004.JPG)

The Rat Swarms were easy, they were all numbered 1-8. :P I'm assuming there's nothing above 8?

I don't have any Plague Monks, but everthing else appears complete. Or if not, I never got them either.

I have four units of plague monks, three units of gutter runners, four units of jezzails and eight units of clanrats. All but two units of clanrats are directly ordered from GW I haven't got a strip that differs from the ones shown.

If you really are AR, you can always check for yourself here: http://diceatdawn.blogspot.se/search/label/skaven.  ;)

I have over 6K of Skaven and for those units concerned; I haven't seen any strips, other than the ones you show, above.

6K ?! Do you sometime play such an army ? I want to see pictures :)

You can check here : http://warmaster-fr.niceboard.com/t2379-revues-des-armees-skavens

I try on this section of our french warmaster forum to present all the figs of all the armies. Skaven are some of the less represented as i only have a little army, and frequently the figs are separated...

But it may help, anyway.

Not yet, its being slowly but surely professionally painted by The Iron Painter.
When it's all done, I will share photos.

My dream game is a '6K per side' version of the warmaster version of the famous three way battle: 'Monastary de Maisontaal' from the battles of legend in one of the warmags.

One of my friends has about 5K of beautifully painted Brettonians and I have an unpainted lead mountain of Vampire Counts (about 100 blister packs of GW and Kallistra), so one day..... one day.

Will look into the new year to organise game .

Think I have a round 6K each of Skaven, VC, Bretts, Araby and Empire and 10K+ each of Chaos and O+G. About 4K of Kislev, HE, Dwarfs and TK.

I may have a problem - how am I going to paint it all before I die?
May need to hire a car showroom with a green carpet for a week and ask everyone to take their shoes off and use the floor to be able to play with it all. (between us, our group probably has the same again of various armies). Reckon we could do a 50K a side battle between us all if it was all painted?

A touch over 16000 points, spread over 8 armies for me. With another 5000+ points planned to be bought, to add units to the existing armies and 2 new ones.

Yes, do let us know how it goes. We've done 12K a side with 3 or 4 players per side and it took all weekend (with beer and curry etc). That was on a 6 foot by 12 foot table.

What size table are you planning on using for 20K a side?
