hello gentlemen !
This summer one of my friends is going to organise a three days warmaster event. We will run a campain, and i am think about fielding a pure goblin force.. ::)
The thing that I would like to know if anyone made use of the list before (what are your experiences), and furthermore i would be interested to get some comments on how to deal with the this (terrible) low leadership ??
general 8, all other chars 7 or :o 6.... how get the greens moving ?
thank you

The easiest way ??
Proxy them !!
Assuming a serious Goblin Army will operate along the lines of a real army, which boss-goblins whipping units into shape (all pun intended)
My Goblin force is Da Green Tide - proxy Kislev

My friend has a large green hoard .
he suggested maximising your commander , heros and shamens .
I possibly came up with large break point goblin army 2,000pts
16 x goblin units 480pts
12 x goblin wolf riders 720 pts
4 x orc units 240 pts
4 x goblin heros
3 x orc hero
1 x general
1 x shamen
the idea if one commander fails , it's only a small fraction of your force that doesn't move .
I haven't tried this idea out yet .
when is your event , as I would hopefully like to attend , depending on dates .

I have found greenskin magic to be seriously powerful. I would absolutely maximise shamans and make sure they are harassing the most expensive or important enemy units.
-
true. 3 shamen usually cast 1 foot of gork once per 2 magic phases.

Hello gentlemen !
Thank you for your contributions .
Maxing chars and magic is are tactics that i used for my orc army s well.
However, most times I was seriously crushed when I fielded the green ones....
Even with an Command of 8 , and gobos have heroes with a command of 7 ....(2nd commands, units with losses, terrain ..do not even want to think about)
@lex , yep that was something i was thinking about too. Albion list might work ..(even if this list comes without pump wagons and no waaagh and gerofff :()
Second thought was to use the regular orc list in a goblin-style-way (adventage that i can use orc commanders, and gobos need to be bossed. ;D)
Slingers are gobos, wolfhounds are wolf riders...and the infantriymen are orccs (with diffrent stats)
Will give it a try in a test game.
Regards
Stefan

Looks like a good list to me - those cavalry units can be thorny to deal with!

Hi Nafets,
You need several units of my produced spiders.... :-).
Looking forward to meet you at the campaign.

Seeing as I just picked up 2 full lots of the "Battle of 5 Armies" bad guys i thought it was about time to try out the goblin list with a 2000 point army...
My army was:
* 10 x Goblins
* 5 x Squig Herd
* 10 x Wolf Riders
* 4 x Pump Wagon
* 2 x Doom Diver
* 2 x Spear Chukka
* 1 x Warboss
* 5 x Hero (1 on a chariot mount with a sword of fate)
* 4 x Shaman (1 with scroll of Dispel)
My opponent played Chaos and I expected to be thoroughly slaughtered.... It didn't quite work out like that as his slow advance (i think that he was concerned about being flanked and swamped!) made him easy(ish) fodder for massed missile fire. Some excellent command rolls really helped but even taking that into account i was still shocked that we won so decisively. That said, i am not sure it would do so well against other armies but i think it will be fun finding out :o
One thing i will note though.... Should the army listing really state that the doom divers are a 2 stand artillery unit? They seem incredibly cheap if that's not a typo!

Warmag #12 says DoomDiver unit consists of 2 stands.
-
* 5 x Squig Herd
* 4 x Pump Wagon
* 2 x Doom Diver
* 2 x Spear Chukka
Hi. What models did you use to represent these?
Thanks,
Adrian

just a few thoughts:
For pump wagon you would talk with Blacked. For spear chukka you would talk with Bel.
Pendraken have some sort of squigs.
In the past DaveC homemade some doom diver beautiful models, but I do not think they are available yet.
-
I heartily endorse BlackEd's pump wagons. Best models in the game! And I'm not biased at all :P
I use goblin fanatic cannons as doom divers. Who needs wings when one is shot out of a cannon?

Thanks guys.
