Hi
A while back, I found this great idea by Xeno Turkey
http://xenoturkeyhunters.blogspot.dk/2011/06/battlefleet-gothic-stat-cards.html
For those not wanting to follow the link, he basically made BFG stat cards looking like this
(http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BLkYVfC8SaE/Thes987nW4I/AAAAAAAAABs/wqo8iBHpxJs/s400/bfgcard-caplegend.jpg)
Unfortunately, the project seemed to be dropped, and he never made the source files available. So, I went ahead and made my own versions.
I have made cards for the 4 standard imperial cruisers (BFGR rules) in LibreOffice. They are meant to print on A4, and should fit the dimensions of a magic card exactly (3.5" x 2.5")

Put them in a plastic sleeve and you can mark damage with a whiteboard marker.
How do you like the design? Is the placement of stuff logical? Should I find some better images for the ships?
I plan to make the entire imperial navy, chaos, ork, space marine and craftworld eldar range, as these are the fleets I own. I anyone cares, I could also include other ranges. I do not want to start making the ranges until the community have given me some feedback, as errors are easier to correct at this state.
Regards

Nice one. Print and laminate and Bob's your uncle.
very handy.

And the imperial cards are done

Please let me know if you find any errors, or if you find these things useful.

These look great, hope you do Chaos next!
-
Awesome job! keep on!

A bit of thread necromancy here, but just wanted to say THANK YOU!!
I remember seeing people use something similar (although much larger) at conventions and have always wanted to have cards like these for my (rare) BFG games. This made my day! :-D
-
Is there a source file I can grab to do my own at all?
I am doing up a local 30K BFG and have converted a number of the Chaos ships across to Heresy era named ship designs, these would be ideal to have.
-
Also wanted to say thanks. I have continued on from the files which you linked above and have managed to create a document with all of the Battleships, Battlecruisers, Grand Cruisers, Cruisers, Light Cruisers, Frigates and Destroyers from BFG 2010, Armada and BFG main book.
Our local group doesnt play BFGR so I opted to create them using the most up to date original versions.
I plan on doing the same for Chaos and then if the motivation keeps going some of the Xenos, but in all honesty I suspect the steam will run out by then considering I have little interest in those fleets. However the templates are very easy to use and update.
I have no idea where I can upload the document though, will a google drive work?
-
I'm glad someone is continuing this. Google drive should work as long as you set the document to public. When I have some free time I could probably take a stab at doing a few Xenos fleets. Thanks!
-
here is the google drive link (I hope, never really used it before)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_3DkXoD9DLEXzBJSnlYTVJuQlE/view?usp=sharing
Now the preview looks all weird, but once you download the file and enable the edit function the alignment resets and falls into place... really weird.
-
Keep going!!

Space Marine ships now done:

-
Nice work!
But, I only see the BattleBarges cards... The other ones are black. Can't see more ships.
-
Hmm, not sure what is happening there? They are appearing ok on my system and a few of the local guys have tried ok as well.
What program are you using?
I know they wont work very well in Preview or non edit modes but once you load into the full file it realigns itself.
I can upload the Doc and/or ODT files if you want?
-
Can confirm that the doc corrects itself when downloaded. Excellent work! :)
-
I've downloaded again and the documents are OK...so it was my fault. ::)
Totally awesome!!! ;D
-
and chaos are done:

Probably wont see many more for a little while, and only if some of the local players start using Xenos fleets (or someone really wants them).
-
Would love eldar...when you have time! Thanks in any case for you wonderful job!
-
love these unit cards, looking at the chaos cards i noticed the destroyer is described as a cruiser, also some of the points seem off, the torpedo upgrade on the battleship i thought was 10 pts not 30 - i could be wrong!
also is there a template of blank cards you could share also? theres other players marine/necron etc etc who could start adding ships,
inspired by the cards, i made these up and printed your cards too, all laminated,

and heres the fleet i am running this week

great resource

Please do finish this project!
A printer friendly version without pictures would also be nice.

Currently engrossed in a BFG:HH project but once I get the fiddly bits of that done move onto the Ships cards for those, I will come back and redo the ones I have already created and clear up some of the errors. However I probably wont be doing them for Xenos, primarily because they are so different to Imperial and Chaos so it would require a reasonably large overhaul of the card layout and because I am pretty focused on 30K atm there is little motivation (sorry).
However I can upload a blank template of the cards, although it isnt very robust and requires a bit of fiddling for each entry.

Can't believe I missed this topic before, good stuff!

I made this deck of cards for Chaos, Imperial, and Space Marines. I would toss one on the table next to each miniature...when I use to play BFG :-[

A few more images of them can be found at boardgamegeek.com (https://boardgamegeek.com/images/boardgame/all/page/1?username=russ_c)
I found them to be an extremely helpful player aid. Especially for newcomers.

Those look very nice! I have to admit, I am planning on going the card route for my fleet at Adepticon; I find it is so much handier to have your model stats in that format than having to flip through a book and the like. I'm also thinking I will put them in sleeves so I can use a dry erase to mark of damage, note crits, and the like ;).
-
Ruckdog, I've come up with a word document to print my fleet lists on that basically copies each profile out onto the list for easy reference for me and my opponent (since we exchange lists anyway). I'd be happy to share it if you're proficient with MSWord!
-
Please! I'd love to take a look 8)
-
Oopsie! Sorry for the delay.
Here is a link to a sample list (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2SaFdZGlaRUaFdDclN3RzZKQ3c) on my drive. If you're familiar with MSWord you can simply fill out the details as you require, copy/paste tables for more ships, and edit them simply enough.
Personally I'd like to see everyone at Adepticon use it because it gives everything required in a familiar format and is easy to read, but that's just me...;)

Looks great! Thanks.
