I'm thinking about producing some 'egyptian undead' conversion sprues- a set of 4 banner tops, and a set of 5 shields- suitable for adding to existing undead ranges. There are several skeleton armies on the market, but not quite with the look I'd like. Would anybody be interested in buying some sprues like that? It'd help me offset my production cost.
Pictured is an idea of the first banner (cloned a few times) in orange, next to a mockup 40mmx20mm base with ten figures on it. I'd do 4x different banner tops, 5x or 10x different shields.

I'm very interested in the shields, if you can simply glue them over the top of the pre-existing coffin type shields on the now oop Warmaster skeletons range.
Would want to see a prototype picture of it actually on a unit first though.

I'd be interested in one of each banner and around 30 shields. Bear in mind when making the shields that the WM undead are tiny. There's 7 of them in a line, other armies usually have 5 or 6.
-
Definitely want to see your plans for shields.
-
If those would be compatible with any existing range (and not the OOP GW stuff) I would be certainly interested!
e.g. Pendraken, Magister Militum etc
-
Yeah, I'd definitely be up for these Egyptian styled shields, as long as they were compatible with the WM skeletons, in that, you could easily glue these shields over the top of the sculpted shields.
-
Happy to jump in on this one too... Excellent idea to add some distinctive flavour to the army.
Also adding my support to the 'glue over existing" option for the shields.
-
Excuse me but is it really warmaster stuff or warhammer battle ? 10 mm or 28mm ?
-
10mm. The mock-up base is 40x20 with 10 guys on it.

These are designed as conversion bits, thus, converting your models to fit them is largely going to be up to you ;-)
I had it more in mind for pendraken/magister militum models for myself, there is no reason why you can't also use with games workshop models ((I have seen some spiffing conversions of the gw models as such before)
The shields will ave a sub-1mm tab at the back of them, so they will take to a small hole drilled with a pin vice over an existing shield. I plan to grind back existing shields with a dremel then pin them, myself.
Here are updated images of the finished bits- I just need to talk to the foundry about sprueing then order the bits and get it going. It will be a while, but I will post model pics when it is all done.

What's the dimensions on the shields?
Any chance of less skulls?
-
less... skulls? That doesn't even make sense 8)
I could potentially do a set without the front shield skulls, and put them on shapeways for purchase, but I want to keep these for production.

This is the best I can do right now to show a scale shot with gw figs. I am awaiting my shipment from magister militum soon so I can get a proper size comparison, if they will still shrink down a little bit and look good with those figs, then i can potentially make the shields a bit smaller to suit the gw strips a bit better.

These look fantastic mate, thanks for sharing :)
-
I would like to see a picture of the shields super glued to a stand of GW Warmaster skeleton spearmen, front and side view please. I'm not pinning hundreds of 10mm figures - life's too short! :)
If it looks to scale and cool, I'll be buying enough for 12 warmaster regiments worth!

Wow, these look really great!
Would they work for cavalry shields, too?
-
David- I don't have any skellie strips (yet?) but it will work- YMMV depending on how good your superglue is...
Stormwind: absolutlely I plan to do this with some Pendraken cav
