Frustrated to regularily see this nice pieces everywhere, but always unpainted (or extremly rarely mediumly painted), i have decided to re pain mine (i had bought it painted few year ago).
I had that. A not that bad base, but too dark to show the nice little details and finaly nothing exceptionnal, while the models are really sympathetic.

I have re painted the base white to have a clear base, and then Graveyard Earth. Studied the addition of 28 mm bits too.

Added too a gentle slope with some Prince August artificial stone. The very high and round declivity was not beautifull to my eyes.

I have decided to use classical synthetic grass to test. This choice is very discutable i know, i know but i validated it.

Studied various colour schemas to colour the windows, to keep the impression that there is candle light inside. This ferst try was very orange and i finally changed it later for a yellow to light brown colour.

Awesome work!

Very nice !! they do come to live!
-
Nice painting and i like the use of static gras.
I would like to see the whole village in one picture :)
-
Thanks for your kind words. I still need to finish the two other village parts. I hope to have time soon.
-
Lovely work!!
It is inspiring me to get my village out and actually splash some paint on it too!!

Is it me or do the huts look too small compared with the Orcs? The doors look like 6mm. did FW make them that small?
-
You're right, they are a little bit small to allow an orc to enter standing up.
On one hand, hutts are frequently smaller than occidental houses. I know what i say about that, for i live in south pacific, where locals have traditionnal hutts (cases in fact).

Now, on the other hand... You touch a point frequently saw, that buildings are a little bit too small. It's a common impression on FW and nearly every sceneryes i have ever seen. As if the maker did not want to take too much place, or if they thought they would avoid using too much resina (or whatever they use).
I have recently ordered houses at TotalBattleMiniatures, and had the pleasure to find them perfectly at scale. I think it's the only time it happened. All the rest was a little bit small when looking carefully.
But nothing that important if you want my opinion. On a table, it's just looking good.

Fantastic work on your Orc Village, Marell, these buildings look great!!!
-
Thanks a lot :)
I did not had time yet to continue working on it, but it should be soon.

You've done a really nice job there mate!
I love the addition of the 28mm bits and the attention to detail, like the windows and camp fires etc.
