Title: Space marine fleet questions.

I will be playing a game of BFG for the first time, i will be using the space marine list. Game one will be 500 points and no ordinance. Game 2 will be 1000 points with ordinance.

I plan on using for game 1
2x strike cruiser
5x hunter

I know this limits me as the hunter is used primarily for it's ordinance ability but i want to become familure with what i will be using in the big game.

Game 2 is going to be,
2x strike cruiser
5x hunter
1x battle barge
should i add any extra rerolls in or a fleet commander? how much do these cost, i calculate i am at 915 points.

A couple questions, do the strike cruisers need to be paired together? Should they be paired together? Do i need to keep my force together for the most part for support? Or should i consider a more fluid split and pincer move? New to this so any help is appreciated.

There will be torpedoes in the 500 point game, just no ordnance spacecraft.

Squadron the strike cruisers, their firepower can be pretty pitiful on their own.

Your fleet list should have a fleet commander if its over 750 points iirc. Which list are you using?

The dominion fleet but I couldn't find the point cost on a fleet commander and rerolls.

Its the first entry on the fleet list which is the last page of the SM doc.

50 pts Fleet Master (ld 10)
25 pts/ rr max 3

So i'm going with this for the 1k point game.

Battle barge(fleet commnander with 1 reroll) 500 points.
2x strike cruiser. 290 points.
5x hunters. 200 points.
Total: 990 points.

That looks good, I would strongly consider dropping the reroll for the extra shields on those Strike cruisers though.

5x hunters. 200 points.
Total: 995 points.
