My friend Deathbullar was kind enough to supply me with some metal crack in the shape of an Undead army for Warmaster, which I promptly started to work on:
First up I undercoated the miniatures with a medium brown primer, followed by an airbrush coat of dark brown and then medium brown:

The miniatures were then given a coat of bleached bone:

Followed by skull white:

After that it was just a question of picking out the details:

I wanted the miniatures to have that old-school undead look like you get in the 4th/5th edition army book so I opted for using mainly black and browns contrasted with red and purple. I still have another unit of archers to add, a few chariots, war machines as well as a dragon.

What colours do you use for your wood textures?

Simplest possible - Leather brown base, dark wash, followed by a contrasting highlight of a leatherish-gw yellow and finally a drybrush of khaki on parts of it.

Very nice! Especially the basing.

Absolutely beautiful! *LOVE* the old school look and banners.

I've seen these guys invading the Warmaster facebook group- they look great!
How long does it take you to paint them? Is it mostly a quick airbrush and drybrush?

Thanks guys/gals!

The airbrush work is pretty quick (but cleaning the thing takes forever...) and since the major parts are already covered it's all about picking out the details afterward. I would therefore say that they are very quick to finish actually. I don't know how many hours exactly, but all of what I've shown you so far, plus the rest that's still half-finished is probably about 10hrs of concentrated work.

As for the others, i love the old school look.
