Had some spare from another project so painted them up.
I like the basing on these as they really tie in with the space hulk theme.
Now shall I try and get a copy of ASC or not ;)

I read Genestealers but I see chaos warriors. :P :D
-
Hmm, I would not use 10mm chaos warriors as stand-ins for SH Gene Stealers! :P
nice paint job, though! :)
-
oops!
Fixed now.
-
Good job. They are ready to kill marines!
-
I am also guilty of picking up a box of Stealers and a box of Terminators last weekend - the first 28mm minis that I have bought in a long time!

Yes, yes and thrice yes. ASC is one of my favourite GW games ever, and I am its biggest fan (I am a bigger fan of this game even than Jervis is, and I prefer it even to Space Hulk).... but, popular opinion would say stick with Space Hulk. :-[

If only it were only that simple :(
Here's to hoping the plan a similar stunt with ASC, although I doubt it :(
-
Weren't SC and ASC released through MB? If so then I doubt that GW could re-do it even if they wanted to...
-
No ASC as with AHQ were GW products that lured more mainstream gamers into the hobby.
-
By ASC you mean Space Crusade or something :) I sold mine and this is something I will never forgive myself.
Great genestealers and my favorite, classic purple/blue theme.

Advanced Space Crusade. IIRC I only ever played SC or ASC as computer games, reminded me of UFO Enemy Unknown or whatever it was called...
I did paint one of the Space Marines from SC or ASC for someone at school though, IIRC as a Space Wolf. I then vowed never to paint for money again, and only broke that vow about four years ago. I still haven't finished that Pegasus actually, I wanted to work my brush-skills up a bit before finishing it off, and I think I'm almost there. I'll be sure to post a photo here when I do, it's a WM Bret Pegasus...
Anyway, I cleared the flash off half of one of my 'stealers and the body of one of the termies last night... Might get a spray of black next week...

Yea that's the game. I also played computer version which was cool. The tabletop was one hell of a game. I especially liked the random event cards which i always though would also work good in SH. And the fact that there were many races, a whole add-on about eldar and Dradnoughts and many more. Unfortunaetly being a stupid kid i sold my copy :(

Advanced Space Crusade consisted of two parts - exploration and encouters. Exploration consisted of three paths of advance through a Tyranid ship. Your squads are represented by counters, and if you have a squad on the recon part of an advance, you turn an encounter card over for that advance path. That can lead to encounters, with squads in your force.
The encounter worked in a similar way to SH, but with more variety. You could take actions, giving you a number of APs. An advance gave you the standard number - 4 for Marines, for example - while a Charge gave you an additional 2 AP but you can only move and close assault. You can shoot using either a snap fire (1AP) or an aimed fire (uses almost one whole action).
Figures have an armour value, and the game uses D12. Shooting needs to roll over the armour value, and weapons have a modifier. It was an extremely elegant system, and I am still a HUGE fan!
