Title: Landsknechte painting comp?
Post by: Dave on September 10, 2014, 01:27:18 PM
So CS was generous enough to create this shiny new sub-forum for me, would anyone would be interested in Landsknechte painting comp? I figure it could run from now to sometime in December and we vote on the boards after that. I'd be willing to donate a few packs as prizes (either Zweihander, Pikemen or a credit for future packs).

Timing would be crucial for me- the right timing, very interested, the wrong timing, I'd have no choice but to sit on the sidelines. The problem being that right now I have no idea what timing is best for me  :(

I would like to participate, but I have little time for the hobby these days. Anyway I support and enocurage to do the competition.

I bought some of your figures with Edmund (my regular opponent). But now we are living in different cities.

Besides the difficulties  I would like to be in for competition but could not promise.

Oh this sounds like a fabulous idea!

Now I have to spend money on them though, no excuses!  When will horrid people like me who didn't pay into the kickstarter get to buy the two units to paint?

Once the pledges are shipped, two weeks (give or take) at this point.

Congrats on the new sub-forum! I was going to write that Dave getting his own forum is a sign of the end times, but I think if I got a forum of my own it would be a much stronger sign  :D

If credit towards future releases is an option, I'm game. Well, I'd be game in any case, but that just adds incentive.

Well I'm up for it. I won't win (my painting skills are "tabletop" quality at best  :( ) but if it encourages some more folks to have a go and maybe even increase interest in Warmaster, why not?

I'll be doing a blog for the "studio" units (sounds fancy, doesn't it?). Planning on four blocks for my infantry:

red/yellow
yellow/blue
blue/red
black/white

I have the banners worked up as well, a gold star will be awarded to who ever can figure out where I got the colors and heraldry ideas from.

I'll be in it....

I just hope that packing up the house - especially my hobby room, moving and then unpacking doesn't make it impossible for me....

If mine don‘t take too long getting here, I‘m certainly up for it. Good excuse to try out the new light box

In a unit of pike men, in what "rank" should the standard bearer be?  In the back, middle, or front?

Thanks,
Adrian

I'm going with middle, straight after the lowered pikes. I always prefer command groups front and centre (habit from Warhammer), but with the lowered pikes middle is the next best thing IMO (and lowered pikes look better en masse, not with a command group interrupting them).

Sorry, I forgot to take in progress pictures and I didn't have time to base them, so I'm out. I'll post pictures later.

I won't have time to sit down and start the voting polls until the 5th, most likely, so feel free to enter before then.

Can I vote for myself?  ;D

Edit: I've been honest and voted for what I think is the best. Sadly it ain't my attempt  :'(

May the best man win!
