road/train and in various hotels (and even during the event(s) 8)) I managed to get my dwarfs from a plain black undercoat (done on the day before I left) to a (more or less) finished state during my tournament trip to Memphis and Vancouver in 2005. As this came up on the recent thread on the WM painting callenge I figured I should put up some of the pictures:
First pictures of the state on the day before the trip starts

by the time I reach Vancouver the army has not only taken on some colour, but is also based properly !

impressive! that is the art of making virtue from the need. The need of making a trip gets as a result... a army painted!

I've tried painting on a sailing trip, the results were less than stellar...

Well, the closest I've got is painting five or six units of knights in my hotel room the night before the first CTA or WM campaign day at WHW after going out drinking. Needless to say the paint scheme was rather 'basic', and luckily the room carpet was already rather brown as I spilt a pot of chestnut ink all over it and the table I was using...
