Title: WMPC 14 - Cletus' Pikemen
Post by: Cletus on December 12, 2014, 05:42:46 PM
Hi all!  I've wanted to do a dogs of war army for a long time, as I came to Warmaster somewhat recently and have been forced to piece together an army from what I could find available.  I've always been disappointed in the pikemen options available, and was overjoyed to get my Warmonger troops in the mail.  Beautiful sculpts, and a joy to paint; I have many more that I'm working on, so maybe an army thread would be in order on another thread.  Anyway, on to my guys.

First, right after priming:

Next, an in progress shot:

And Finally, the finished unit:

I went with a red and black scheme for these guys, and tried to incorporate both stripes and checks where possible to match up with my flag.  The fact that these miniatures hold sufficient detail to allow for that at the 10mm scale speaks volumes to the quality of the sculpts.

I hope you all enjoy, and I look forward to your comments!  Also, if anyone wants to give me some pointers on how to post pictures within the thread, I'd appreciate it.  My forum-fu is apparently weak.

Hi Cletus,  good work!

To post you need to use the share link  IMG.

Copy paste here (I will insert some spaces in the last /IMG in order to see the code

[IMG]http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e346/jkeen64/image_zps5ea224a1.jpeg[/   img] (http://s42.photobucket.com/user/jkeen64/media/image_zps5ea224a1.jpeg.html)

If someone click the image it goes to your photobucket. I like to erase the URL flag and left alon only IMG.

like this (again I will insert spaces in the end of flag:

[IMG]http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e346/jkeen64/image_zps5ea224a1.jpeg[/   IMG]

At last, it is use the command width=750 (it is sensible to the capitals). This command will resize your pic. 750 is the width of the forum

so

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e346/jkeen64/image_zps5ea224a1.jpeg[/   IMG]

Thanks for the help with posting pics, jchaos.  Implemented and fixed!   8)

Thanks for the nice words.  I've always had a thing for checkerboard on miniatures, and many of the units in my Dogs of War army include it on either the flags or heraldry.  The flag wasn't so bad, but the checks on the pants and stuff were a labor of love.  I'm leaning towards more block colors on some of my other units.
