I've noticed that for some reason this board doesn't keep me logged in after a long time out (like over night). Could something be done as it's annoying to relogin every day.
-
I don't get this problem.
Have you got cookies enabled?
Or your browser set to clear them down when you close it?
-
Nope as all other cookies work as they should.
-
When you log in, next to the box were you enter name and password is pull down menu. Have you tried to set on 'FOREVER'?
-
Yep. So I'm only one that has this problem ... :(
-
It seems so. I dont have this problem either.
-
Hena.... do you know if you have a dynamic or a static IP adress ??
-
Dynamic, I think.
-
that might be the problem, altough the forum tries to keep you online, after you restart computer/reaquire connection it does not see you as being the same "account"...
I will see if I can back this with evidence later ???
-
I don't stay logged in either, but my browser automiatically fills in the boxes for me.
I "think" I'm on a static IP.

Shouldn't the cookie have that information to keep it logged in even if my IP address changes?
-
not nescecarily. Not all cookies are the same, so the problem may lay there.
As you noticed in PM 8) you are definitly NOT on a static IP (unless you use several computers to post from). I connect to the forum from several machines in my network cluster, and all autolog me in (because my userdata and my cookie are on the server, and because the IP showing for me is my WAN-IP (AFAICT), but I had to relog when I used the UMTS connection.

Well have three places normally where I connect. My hope (which is dynamic according to the PM), my work which is static and university wlan which I assume again is dynamic. So overall my IP varies anyway :).
