Paul and myself ( Stuart ) will be there . Not sure what I'm taking yet .
Having just painted a daemon army , if I can get them based , it would be cool .

Excellent.  Look forward to seeing you both again.  If your Daemons aren't ready in time you can borrow mine if you want?

Looking forward to the day I may use Daemons but not decided yet as I know you all want to meet the Cold ones again :)

Ah yes, those Cold Ones.  Or was it the Cold Many?  I had only just forgotten about my poor results last time round and now you've gone and reminded me of the bitter taste of defeat.  But still not as bad as my truly abysmal two-turn rout at the hands of the Wood Elves later that day!

I like to think of it as a Damned  close run  thing   ..... but it could be the time of year

hope we can meet on the field again in March ;)

Today’s Saffron Walden WM tournament results.  8 players; 3 rounds.  Pictures to follow.  Quote of the day: “I’m not playing defensively, I’m playing conservatively”.

place | name | army | points

1st | Ta | Orcs & Goblins | 9
2nd | Edgar1st | Daemons | 7
3rd | N  | Wood Elves | 6
4th | Stuart Bleything  | Dwarf Engineering Guild | 5
5th | Janners | Nippon | 4
6th | Rowlybot | Undead | 3 (1340 against opponents)
7th | G| Goblins| 3 (1245 against opponents)
8th | To | Ogres | 0

4 points for win & break opponent
3 points for win (with more than 600 points damage inflicted on opponent)
2 points for win (with less than 600 points damage inflicted on opponent)
1 point for a draw (both sides within 150 points of damage)

ERRATA
Support.  Count support before removing casualties.  If combat is won, supporting units can pursue, advance, etc.

Flanks. To hit a unit in the flank the bulk of the charging unit must be inside a 45 degree arc of the side of the target unit.  This applies even if the only part of the target unit they can see is the flank.

Fight to front.  Stands must fight directly to their front if possible, engaging the stand with which they have the longest edge-to-edge contact.  If two enemy stands are of equal contact length, they may choose which one to engage.  Corner-to-corner engagement only occurs if there is no other alternative.

Fall-back. In the event of a drawn combat, fall-back moves can only be made sideways or backwards, ie. a unit cannot go forward of an imaginary line drawn across the main line of contact they had with the enemy.

TERRAIN
If a unit is on/inside a ‘defended’ terrain type but one or more stands are partly outside, then those stands still counts defended (5+ to hit) but attacking stands don’t lose their charge bonus.

[edited to include Rowlybot - apologies for the oversight]

[This was a rules query post - hence JChoas79's reply - but I realised it should have been posted in the WM rules queries thread so I've overwritten it.  Apologies.]

I would say two single combats. (just my opinion)

[THIS THREAD IS USELESS WITHOUT PICS]

Wish I could have made it down, looking to attend the next one later in the year, just have 4 units of cold one knights to get painted first ;)

Apologies to all the attendees who had to face my unfinished Undead and more importantly, that I had to borrow character models because I'm a muppet...

Rowlybot, I don't think anyone minded!  But I'm sure next time they'll be wowed by your painting and cowed by your characters ...
