Hi ,
Having just got back into painting from a 16 year break , what do people use to base their warmaster bases .
My preferred bases are mdf .
I have now to base my December Nurgle daemon army which I painted in 16 days . ( usually I'm a slow painter , my paint brushes must have been on steroids , or gone into shock ) .
Kind regards in advance .

Since I started back into Warmaster about 18 months ago, I've been using Renedra's plastic bases. 15p each.

However, I noticed recently that Magister Militum do plastic bases at 10p each.

So when I've used up my stock of Renedra bases later this year, I'll be giving MM a try.
Edit: I've some Kallistra figures that came with plywood bases. Whether they sell them seperately I don't know.

Kallistra usually sell plastic bases , they're very nice with rounded edges .
What I meant to say was what materials do people use to base their miniatures once they've finished painting them and stuck them on bases ?.

For basing material you should stick with a medium grit/sand. If you use fine sand be prepared to put a second coat on as it generally won't cover up the bottom of the model.
As for grass and such I prefer army builder tufts, but there's so much material out there you can use.

I use Vallejo Pumice for my bases...

Same style as for 28mm figures.
I use Kallistra plastic bases.
1. PVA and fine-ish sand.
2. Paint mid brown.
3. Dry brush 'bleached bone' or similar
4. Option for second dry brush in white
5. pva and static grass and/or clumps

For these http://www.forum.specialist-arms.com/index.php?topic=6287.0 I used the small 2-3mm stones you get in model railways shops. Superglue the base and affix the models and stones at the same time. Paint dark matt grey enamel, wet brush grey, and then dry brush with white. Gloss black on the sides of the bases.

Many thanks for your time and advice . Does anyone use basetex still as it used to be similar to coloured Sandish . Place it on base wait till dry then dry brush .
I've also used tetrion / poly filler . Splodge glue and then sand , paint sand as grass .
