Cathedral ships, ahoy! Focus Interactive have announced that they will publish a real-time strategy adaptation of Games Workshop’s Battlefleet Gothic. Armada is already in development and we’ll be taking a closer look in very near future but the first details emerged moments ago. Fleets will be drawn from four forces – Imperial, Chaos, Eldar and Ork – and ships will be fully customisable, from their weaponry to support sub-systems. Admirals and crew will gain experience from one battle to the next, but the initial press release doesn’t contain any details regarding campaign or mission structure. Giant images await below, in the Warp.

Please do a good job on this! Please do a good on this! Please do a good job on this!

I have high hopes. Bloodbowl is passable and Mordheim is shaping up nicely.
-
I dont know :/ Hoping it will be good :D
My opinions and hopes:
Blood Bowl is ok, but They did do an almost straight up port of the boardgame so its hard to fail. Fumbbl beats the Cyanide-version hands down though. I will reserve judgement on Mordheim - so far not impressed by either movementsystem or initiativesystem. Camera is awful too for a strategic game... But its basically alpha so here's to hope!
-
Dunno. Hope they keep referring to the tabletop game. :)
Would be a pity if everyone ditched the models for a video game. BFG is for tabletop, Mario Kart 8 & Smash Wii U for video gaming.
Or wait... Amiibo style spaceships!

At this point I'll take what I can get! ;)

Don't give them ideas...On the other hand that'd be the only way we're getting new official stuff.
Haven't played the computer version of BB, but heard nothing good about it. Never even heard of a version of Mordheim before!
Here's to not ****ing this up!

My first thought same as everyone else's: please don't suck. I hope those are just placeholder models. It does not at all look like city sized craft. What's up with those ramming prows?
I was just looking at BFG mods for sins and homeworld the other day, too.

Above is my take on the game in a not to serious but good natured voice. It does look promising indeed!

At the very least, this is a lifeline to our beloved game!
I wonder if this will basically be Sins of a Solar Empire for BFG. While I think that will work, it won't be the most fun game I've ever played.
But hey, we have life!

Judging by the latest news it will be a bit different.

Some of that stuff is so good I don't want to believe!

I just hope that this is successful and they see that other tabletop spaceship games are doing well like Firestorm Armada. Heck, there is apparently even enough of a market for a HALO game and Drop Fleet Commander to come out at pretty much the same time. I think GW can manage to produce Gothic and make it profitable.

My word exactly! :o

Ouch, my graphics card...
-
Hehe, spacemines with chains ;P otherwise all good :P
-
Oh come on it's all Fantasy. It has got nothing to do with space except for the fact that it takes place in that setting. ;) Bring it on!

I know, I know ;) but it looks a little funny :P Imagine the work to align the chains and mines just so :P

The mines chained to the asteroids is actually BFG "canon"... It's exactly what the minefield image shows on pg 143 of the digital rulebook. IIRC the premise is that they "detach" when an enemy ship is detected and the mines drift off to attack it.
Still silly? Of course.
Still awesome? Yes.

Ah. I am sadly not that into the BFG-part of it all. But I agree - silly and awesome ;D

Anyone see this already?

By the emperor!
I love how it looks!
Hoping they are balancing it right tho... :)
So like the orks are super OP! ;D

It does look good but it also looks like a straight port of the tabletop version which is a shame. By that I mean short weapon ranges and, maybe more surprisingly, it looks like the ships operate at the same altitude?
That said, I will definitely be checking it out!
