My opponent had a unit of flyers, he wanted to move them, ideally he would have like to fly them across the table to charge my bone throwers in the flank about 70cm. He had clear line of sight with no intervening anything.
However, the nearest unit to him was my Cavalry, and he would have passed by 9 other stands of infantry (3 units).
He felt he couldn't, I saw no reason why he shouldn't!
Is there anything anywhere in the rules that says you have to charge the nearest enemy, all I can see is that you may charge any enemy in LOS, provided nothing blocks you in anyway. Having chosen your victim unit, your nearest stand is then positioned against that unit's nearset stand.

You have to shoot the nearest enemy, not charge. You played it correctly in my opinion.

You only have to charge the closest when you're using your initiative to charge.

Yes, and OFC that then influences your thoughts on another aspect. WM does that a lot in my opinion.
Thanks

I believe that a couple of veterans in another thread, maybe it was Lex? said that in tournaments flyers have a charge range that is capped at 60cm or somesuch.
This is a vague memory but wondered if it was a house rule or something.

Well spotted Ben, but it was within the range, I've miss- remembered the distance :)

We just playtested it as being only 60cm. I think most people were happy with it, to the point where it's as "official" as you're going to get at this point.
