I wanted some replacement bases for my Chaos fleet, so I recently ordered some custom bases from undergroundlasers (http://www.undergroundlasers.com). It's been difficult finding replacement bases for those with broken stems in the same size that BFG uses. I decided on MDF over laser cut acrylic because it's easier to use nails to magnetize the ships to the bases rather than try to attach a magnet to the end of an acrylic rod. Frank sent me versions with both outline text as well as raster cut text. I'll post up more photos once I've gotten some of the bases painted.
If anyone else is interested, Frank can produce bases in MDF or laser cut acrylic (in multiple colors). Just send him an email and he'll sort you out.

These look great. What kind of prices? I wish i;d seen this 6 months ago before I bought a bucketload of GW bases...
-
Those are rad. How much were they?
-
It worked out to $11 for twenty bases + $4 for shipping. He said that acrylic would be about twice as much.

I painted up a couple of the bases. I'm not sure if I'll add star effects or just leave them black. The outline lettering was much easier to paint then the rastered lettering.

Those look good. I got some from corsec and I'm less than thrilled with them.

Very nice!

Did they come with pegs?
-
They didn't, but that was by choice. He can send out acrylic rod if you want.
I've been magnetizing my spaceship bases using Neodynium bar magnets for the larger ships and brad nails for the smaller ones. I find the convenience of transporting the ships seperate from the bases well worth the cost.
