I had a silly idea to play the battle of east gate (dwarf vs goblins ambush at karak eight peaks scenario (https://www.dropbox.com/s/bkmyuf026teiwi7/BattleoftheEastGate.pdf?dl=0)) and wondered if anyone wants to join in? we would need around 6 players (2 dwarf, 4 orc+goblin) and a time, place and date to do so (also some scenery maybe)
I'm thinking WHW sometime in the summer or thereabouts, it would be good to turn up with a bunch of painted armies (100% GW models of course) and commandeer a table in the main hall to really thumb our collective noses at GW, remind them we're still here....
if there is a good deal of interest then we may have the option of having 1-2 side games going on at the same time
thoughts anyone?

I like the idea and want to see photos of it. If you can build a free-to-use teleporter to get to and from the UK I'll even join in.
-
I could get. I don't have a car, but i live about a 15 mins walk away from GWHQ.
Not sure how big my Orc army is, I think it's about 5,000 points? it's also fully painted. One of my opponents is a dwarf player.
We are playing a game this Sunday, my Dark Elves and Undead against Dwarfs and High Elves. 2,000 points each, possibly Empire player joining us
-
I might be interested if I can persuade a mate to come too.
I have a lot of painted orcs and goblins - I'd need to do a head count and deduct all the non GW stuff, but it will still come to well over 6K.
The date in August will be crucial though.
When were you thinking?

I hadn't got that far.... thought it might be better to gauge interest and pick a date suitable for the most people....

We seem to have plenty of Orc and Goblin models between us (10K+) but less so with dwarves?
One of my friends has a large dwarf army (4K+) but its all non GW unfortunately so we couldn't play at Warhammer world with them. Does anyone with a load of painted GW Dwarves want to join in?

Nottingham? Date in august? (no can do 21-ish)
If I am able to "add" a friend with dwarf-capabilities, we can join.
:)
-
Sounds promising....
So how many points of dwarves could you do if he comes?
Dave
-
Probably 4-5k. Sufficient?
-
Just as worse-case scenario planning, do you have a nearby alternative venue if WHW doesn't want you there? (You can never be sure with some employees)
-
I could find one but it would be "Up North" near Manchester.

I could be tempted up to Nottingham. I've got at least 2000pts of Orc/Goblins I've been meaning to paint :)
-
Any news on this?!
There is 2-3 beardy swedes with Dwarfs ready to depart. :D
-
no movement yet, I'm currently painting and preparing for the Epic Armageddon European championship next weekend, when I get that out of the way I can start thinking about Warmaster again ;)
-
Hi,
could join with Dwarves as well.

Hi Everyone!
sorry for going quiet with this, I've been crazy busy with work, and my 5-month old daughter is taking up a lot more time than she did when I first suggested it! Then I was busy with the European Epic Championship, and finally I've been dealing with some family health issues which have eaten up my time and I'll be honest, a little motivation :(
anyway, thanks to EmpireAddict for a rejuvenating game last night I'm back in the saddle firmly! I'm away on vacation for a week from tomorrow, but when I get back, I'll get my organising hat on, find some dates and get an idea of who can make it or not, based around the GWHQ schedule of events, hope this sounds good?
it will also give me motivation to sort out the mountain of unpainted dwarfs on my desk too! ;D

Great!

I live too far away, halas. But i do encourage you in this way !

Are we thinking a Saturday in mid to late August?
I'm away from the 24th August onwards though.
Dave

depending on dates and location I should be able to make something in August.... Early in the month would be better for me though.

Hi All,
Once again, apologies for dropping the ball with this, I've been busy with work lately, but also a very dear friend of mine has been battling pancreatic cancer for the past 3 months, I've been spending a lot of my free time with her in the past few weeks and she unfortunately passed away last tuesday, as a result I've not been thinking much about wargaming so really need to pass the organisation of this on to someone else as I'm just not in the right frame of mind at the moment...

Oh Kyuss I am so sorry to hear that.
