So , what are your plans? what are you painting, or planning to play?

Beastmen. Lots of Beastmen ...

Hopefully an antidote to the Wood Elves that my son & heir is painting.

What are my plans? Over the next few months, paint the following stuff that I’ve already bought:

2 units Araby Spearmen
2 units Araby Bowmen
4 units Bretonnian Peasants
3 Wizards for Vampire Counts

All of the above using various Pendraken codes. Then paint a Chaos Army using the Evil Men range. Must admit I’m struggling to get my painting mojo going on that one. So far I’ve only done the Harpies, errm, Eyrnies and made a start on the characters but can’t really decide on the colour scheme for the army overall.

Once I get all that lot painted, I’ll have done just over 12000 points worth of figures since early January, adding various stuff to my existing Empire, Dwarf, O&G, Tomb Kings, Halfing, Dogs of War, Bretonnian and Araby armies. Included in the 12000 is a >3600 point Chaos dwarf army, using various Eureka, Kallistra/Pendraken, Polar Fox and Magister Militum figures.

The Hobgoblins (MM Goblin codes) from the Chaos Dwarves are also part of a Hobgoblin army I’m putting together, with an army list I’ve drafted. More infantry and wolf riders needed for that army.

I’m also part way through a Vampire Counts army, using Pendraken and Polar Fox stuff, just over 1850 points so far, all done since January. At some point I’ll get some zombies and cavalry from Kallistra and maybe some more Kallistra skeletons for that army.

Edit - Now I've seen Pendraken's new Warband Zombies, I think I'll be getting some of those instead of the Kallistra ones.

Beyond that? Probably some Polar Fox Trolls, to add to the O&G/Chaos/Hobgoblin armies. 2 units each of Magister Militum Dwarf Pikes and Crossbows to add to the DoW army - the crossbows could also double up as Rangers for the Dwarf army. Must get some more cavalry for the DoW as well, I’ve only got 5 mounted units so far.

Then I’ll move on to new armies, I’ve got rough plans for Kislev, High Elves and Norse – but I think that will be next year, not this!

Hmmmm...
The plan is to finish off summer and also to put my paintingstation back in order again... ;)

The local Warmastergroup is building new terrain for swedish open (you are all welcome!) and personally I plan to get more of my OnG's finished :)

We are also trying to start up a Mordheimcampaign so a Beastmen-warband needs creating and a lot of new terrain needs to be built.

Thats that I guess...

All about Warmaster at the mo:

3,800 points of Elves
3,750 points of Dwarfs
2,700 points of Empiire
4,200 points of Chaos
3,500 points of Orcs and Goblins
2,200 points of Undead

That's a lot to get through...but on the workbench at the moment:

x1 Dwarf Warriors
x1 Orc Warrior
x1 Black Orcs
x1 Ironside PF Orcs

Dwarfs are being held up at the moment by me designing and printing some (very small) transfers for their little shields!

The only things prepped for painting I have are Chaos and High Elves.  Resisting the urge to start prepping Lizardmen, Dark Elves, Empire etc.

Last year I barely painted anything.  This year I have painted more but it's still a fraction of what I intended.

Trying out colours for a Silver Helm unit now.

Several projects on the go!

Empire - I have c. 3000 points painted and I'm currently expanding with a detachment of maritime-themed troops, including several units of excellent Warmonger swordsmen and the Landship I shared on here.

Early Germans - a very slow-moving project which involves painting thousands of hairy blokes in trousers. A mix of Magister Militum and Steve Barber.

Albion - using the Germans from the above as warriors, but with the addition of British chariots (Old Glory), Eureka warhound, "ogres" (Copplestone 15mm Picts - much more primitive than the GW ogres and a better fit), a Copplestone 15mm giant and various bits from other manufacturers for characters.

Undead - another slow-moving project, using almost entirely GW miniatures. Bone Dragon and an undead elephant both converted from Microworld.

Hobgoblins - slow progress as every single miniature is converted to look like the old Citadel hobgoblins! I've used mongols and steppe nomads from Old Glory, Pendraken and TB Line, with wolves from Copplestone as mounts. I've sculpted my own general and temple dog and used 28mm hyenas from Obelisk miniatures as hobhounds. This will be a "counts as" army, using the Kislev list.

I have some half-arsed thoughts about a Dogs of War and a Chaos army, but I'm trying to keep the new projects under control.

Very nice terrain Marell- those rivets alone must have taken ages!

I've mostly been assembling Epic (as I have a local opponent for the next 5 months), and am still working on Vassal Warmaster. I have a huge amount of painting to do, but the lack of opponents reduces motivation there.

I have a Bolt Thrower and Reavers set for priming, and Eagles that need to be finished. I also started converting some Dragon Princes, and have dreams of doing the same for White Lions, Lion Chariots and a dragon.

I'm going to begin organizing games at my clinic as an after school program.  Currently have 500 points worth of HEs, Dwarfs, Lizardmen, Chaos, Daemons, and a TK army.  Currently working on DEs, a Dogs of War army, Goblins, and Witch Hunters.  Followed by Kislev, Bretonnian, Orcs, and VCs.  Once I have 500 points for all 14 armies, I'll add 250 point increments to each army until I get to their respective size in my collection (2000-4000 point armies, respectively).

That sounds really nice, Ruiza!

I was meant to get a whole mini army of High Elves or Chaos painted this month but so far have only finished a single Silver Helms unit!

I don't know how other people manage to paint things so efficiently, without compromising on detail.

I recently was linked to an article on NPR detailing how some medical health professionals have been prescribing video games as a means to help manage mood.  I understand the use of video games, as its a cheaper hobby to get into, but I prefer to use Warmaster and Epic as my "mood manager" of choice.

I also have Star War's Armada and Robotech RPG Tactics, along with numerous board and card games, as well as video games  :o.

I hope to start a non-profit that holds game days at the local recreational centers throughout the city during days off at school.  $20/hour gets me 50 chairs and 14 tables for 50 people.  the only thing holding me back is lack of volunteers who now how to demo games.

I'm currently getting back into Warmaster in a big way after having been away from it for a few years. Having regular weekly games against my usual opponent and hoping to re introduce it to my local games club. I've got 3000 pts dark elf, 3000 pts empire, 2000 pt dwarf and soon to have 2000 pt chaos and 2000 pt high elf. 😊 forgot how much I love this game and I'm completely addicted. Also taking part in the tri wizards tournament in Essex in November and thinking of using Warmaster minis to play the new kings of war rules just because I love the scale!

I never got rid of my dark elf army but sold everything else and then regreted it now building it all back up and actually getting a few games in again. I know its been said a 1000 times before but I can never understand why this game didn't take off its got to be gws most tactical game. I'm guessing it was the scale which put people off?

Yep, GW rotated their third gamre up until LotR. It's hard justifying 100 hours of studio time for the SGs when those hours could make 100 times ofmuch making a new Space Marine.

I've got 4 units of cold one knights to get painted as well as a sorceress with cauldron and a hero on manticore, the characters will help mitigate my irritating habit of rolling blunders....

After that it's getting my dwarfs finished and table-ready, six units of warriors, 4 cannons and a flame cannon and two units of slayers should do it :)

My third (and last) army is bretonnians and while I toy with colour schemes in my head, by the time I lay brush on model, my kids may well have moved out....

projects:
Painting up my unused units.
1) Dwarfs: 1300 more points to paint up (13 units)
2) Orcs and goblins: 1245 points to paint up (20 units)
3) Skaven: 500 punts of skaven left to paint up (8 units)

All points are for troops alone, no characters.
In addition to the 4000 pts Chaos army I should end up with
4000 pts Orc Army
2000 pts Dwarf Army
2600 pts Skaven Army

I am likely to keep a lookout on ebay for other units. Both High Elves and Empire have a definate appeal to me.

I can make out the Warhammer Slaanesh Daemonette as the statue (Juan Diaz era). I'd assume the character is from the DE character set. I can't make out the cauldron well enough- it doesn't look like the Siege cauldron, and is pretty round, so may be converted from a bead or similar.

Nice blood cauldron chariot anyway !

For my part, i'm working in repainting my undead army in a lustrian way. Everythuing is WIP so far.

So it's jaguar warrior on tapir, leaded by a quetzal warrior.

Infantry with jaguar warriors. Standard will change entirely. Some weapons too.

And a Giant with jade mask (not perfect, will work on it today or next days). Weapon will change too to show only stone. I will remove the maw after a second thought.

Nah, i took my thinest evergreen rectangular stick and cut it as thin as possible. Not that difficult.

This old human group are from Lustria, of course. They inhabit the "Nameless City". An old forgotten city where undeads recently moved in their sleep...

Thanks for encouragements, all !

I just recently finished painting a huge lot of mighty empires tiles and have finally started painting up my chaos warmaster army.  Soon me and my brother (the only one within 4 hours drive) will start going back and forth to play a game every month to try and complete a campaign for warmaster on the mighty empire map.

Also while doing a full test of the man o'war and heroquest integration I have been working on since early july.

I just recently finished up a nurgle fleet, purchased a khorne and empire fleet complete.  Finished a dwarf fleet in the fall.  Started an elf fleet but nothing there yet.

Hero quest has a heavy start, after I have the warmaster chaos army all painted, I can get to work on my new collection of old, old Ral Parthas to use as your warmaster hero characters in a heroquest game before deployment for the campaign year.  My rules are just today finalized and re-distributed to my brother and hopefully come spring we can begin a 1 on 1 campaign.

I am really excited but my brother is really worried that the rules will be junk  ;)

Oh wow, that is all very impressive.  Partially just impressive that you own Mighty Empire tiles and that many Man o' War ships.  I really hope you post pictures of all of those soon.  Also I hope you document your campaign well,  I'd love to see it, it's sounds fantastic.  I've always dreamed about doing something like that, but I've never had the time or commitment, let alone other people interested, to dream about pulling something like that off.

As for myself, I haven't been around much, first because of the holidays, then in general because of school work, and also because my gaming as been distracted by Star Wars Armada recently.  I found the core set for very cheap, and now have been painting the tiny x-wings and Tie fighters.  I will try to post pictures soon.

To be honest, the whole thing will have taken almost 2 years.  since cracking open the box I stored all of our warmaster armies in, this coming june will be 2 years.

BUT with 2 years you can be pretty patient with ebay and get some really good deals.  Like the man o'war ships.

My brother and I both understand how ambitious and complicated it all will be but we both have low hopes  ;)
Transporting around the castle terrain pieces will be hard so I think I will need to host those games at my house so hopefully the kids can stay away from us as that is the under belly purpose of doing this, to have a break from the normal family stuff and to keep our own personal identities and sanity  LOL

As long as we try, it might actually work out to some degree. I will try to post some stuff here and there for sure though we wont be really starting it up until the weather gets better and even then life will still intervene.

The only hard part about the instructions are for the man o'war weapons firing on the warmaster troops and then how the heroquest magical items work during a warmaster battle, everything else really fell into line using one of the game's rules.

also I have to admit, it was one thing after the next and a slippery slope.  I wanted to play a large siege game for warmaster.....needed castle walls and more infantry.....then decided, a campaign....found mighty empires, which had ships.....Man O'War ships will do.....

Tested a campaign during the summer with man o'war fleets tied in and decided I really needed some action for heroes.....heroquest......bought a cheap-o on e-bay that actually came with a nice group of old ral partha's....ral partha pre-slotted models for all!!!

I hope I'm done  ;)
I have a lot of painting yet to go as I have purchased an orc army for warmaster off ebay, the first army starter box I ever picked up but never bought back in 2000 when they first came out (went with chaos instead).

It definitely is rewarding stormwind, thank you!
